Dick's Sporting Goods history recounted by CEO Ed StackDick's Sporting Goods started in 1948 as a small bait and tackle shop in Binghamton, NY, founded by Richard "Dick" Stack, who, after a bad experience at a surplus store, was encouraged by his grandmother to start his own business with $300. The company grew under family ownership, with Dick's son, Ed Stack, taking over in the 1980s, expanding into athletic footwear and apparel and transforming it into a major national retailer by focusing on team sports and larger store formats. @Hagerstown Maryland @Dicks Sporting goods #hagerstownmaryland #dicks_sportinggoods #sportsapparel #shoppingvlog #fyp

Many people in this store with no masks. I mentioned this to the store manager who told me there was nothing he could do. He told me there was no point in confronting them as they'll just tell him they can't wear the mask for medical reasons. However it was obvious he had no intention of asking them. He then wanted to offer me - a mask wearer - curbside pick up and online purchases. THIS SHOULD BE OFFERED TO THE NON MASK WEARERS as they ask them to leave the store. You can read it here in the government guidelines I found easily online. What is point is having a sign if the company refuses to at least try to enforce it? Have they not trained their employees in the danger they are putting their customers AND employees in? Have they not given them sufficient information to offer curbside pick up to those who refuse or can't comply?? I will never shop at this store again. Incredibly disappointed.

First time visiting this store and overall it was a pleasant visit. There are a ton of great deals here, some better than others but there are many many great deals. Store was clean and all employees were friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back as we scored some great deals that saved us a bunch of money.

Terrible experience. Went over to shoe section as I needed new shoes. I wear a size 14 and I know they're hard to find. But I do expect a little bit of help in finding a pair instead of being forced to buy offline. I was first looking over the small shelves they have placed in front of the wall. Seeing if they had any shoes my size in there and in which I found 3. I then got the attention of the store associate to see if there was any 14 on the wall. She instantly told me the store didn't have 14 in any shoe and that'd she could call Frederick and see if they had any if I wanted to drive there. I asked well how do you know wouldn't you have to go in the back and look. Well all the stock is out front here on the half shelves. I felt lied to. So I went up to the cashier to get the manager's help. She tried taking up for the associate, well that is her department and she knows what's back there. I told the lady what happened and I know the common sizes and I didn't walk in expecting there to be my size but when I see it then get lied to I'm going to be upset. She takes me back there and the first shoe I point to on the wall had a 14 in stock. I don't think anyone should have to go through such hassle. If the employees are going to act like that then the store can just close it's doors. That's not good...

So I'm in the market for a new set of irons and I want to make sure that I get them fitted properly because I'm looking at an 8 to $900 set. Around lunch time I call into these bozos to ask if someone will be around this evening to get me fitted. I also do not want to waste a 35 minute drive in each direction at the end of the work day for nothing. The person on the phone treated me like it was almost a stupid question and didn't ask for my name or anything. So I show up to the store and go over to the Golf area. There are 2 guys in that section but only one of them does fittings. After wandering around the store for nearly an hour just to fill time, it looks as though I'm finally going to get in. Only now there is someone else in there swinging clubs, getting fitted by a different guy. The first guy apologizes and tells me this is why they like to have call aheads. I explained to him that I tried to do that at lunch and they treated me like it was a stupid question. He said it would be another 10 minutes and I said my time is more valuable than that and I left. Looks like somebody else will be getting my thousand dollars worth of business. I won't be returning for softball season, or basketball season, or soccer season, or for any other golf accessories that I may need in the future. Thanks for...
