Ace hasn't replied to calls or emails so I'll have to leave a negative review. Unfortunately, the gallon of paint I bought here was mixed incorrectly. I painted one wall, waited until the next day to make sure after it dried. Sure enough, it was a lighter shade than it was supposed to be. I texted Ace to share a photo. They told me to bring it in and they'd figure out what went wrong. As soon as I got there they admitted "the machine wasn't able to shoot orange yesterday." That was unfortunate since I wasted a day painting the wrong color but I understand mistakes happen. I got the correct gallon that I paid for but Gio said he would not replace the quart of paint I already used on the wall because "You only sent us a photo of a corner of the room. We don't know that you actually used this paint on the whole wall. We have to go by what you sent us and not what you're telling us." Yeah, I sent that photo because a closeup shows the color best. I didn't expect this to be contentious or I would've documented every brush stroke I made. I'm really disappointed that Gio refused to take my word that the missing paint out of the gallon was used on a wall. I probably argued with him for 10-15 minutes but he kept digging in on not trusting that I actually used the paint that was missing out of the gallon. As a long-time customer and Coastsider, it really pains me to write this review about Ace Hardware. I have supported this location for years, but after my recent experience, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.
I recently made a purchase, and afterward realized I had forgotten to present a coupon that Ace had sent out. I went back to the store and asked if they could make a quick adjustment, which is a standard practice at most other stores. To my surprise, I was pointed to a sign saying “no adjustments” rather than treated with any semblance of customer service.
When I asked to speak with a manager, I was directed to Jody (or Judy, as I was told), who was not only unhelpful but also downright disrespectful. She spoke down to me, dismissing my request without even attempting to resolve the issue in a professional manner. Her attitude was condescending and, frankly, unacceptable.
I understand store policies are in place for a reason, but the way I was treated over something as simple as a coupon adjustment is why I’m now rethinking my loyalty to this store. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, but unfortunately, I will be careful in the future and look elsewhere for my hardware needs.

I went to half Moon Bay Ace, dubious about anyone’s ability to find a solution. There I met Steve, one of that vanishing, rare breed of old-school, know-it-all hardware guys who could put together a solution for just about any trouble you may have!
