I am very disappointed with this restaurant.

I spent $52 for dinner for two people, and had an order to go. And all we had for dinner, was chicken wings, and a side of rice, 2nd meal consisted of a taco, chile relleno, rice and beans. And the to go order was for a Cancun burrito with rice and beans.

The server wasn't able to answer my questions about any dishes. On the chile relleno, I asked for white cheese sauce, instead of the red sauce, the chili relleno came from the kitchen with the red sauce. I explain to him that I asked for cheese sauce, not red sauce.

We then realized most of the way through our meal that he had not brought the rice with the chicken wings. And it was on my receipt so I asked him to please take it off of my receipt or to bring us the rice this never happened even though he stood there nodding his head.

Which brings me to another problem on a previous visit, I had ordered the beef and chicken fajitas, well they sent me home on the to go order with the fajita meat, and the guacamole I had no tortillas, no lettuce or anything else now I live 30 minutes away, from the restaurant, so there was no way I could turn around and take it back.

I ask for a manager during this new visit, and she came over to the table her name was either Danielle or Denise. I explained to her what happened on the previous vist, told her I had call spoke to a manager, and he said they would give us a free meal, the next time we came in, well, I told her what had happened, and on my receipt I was still charged me for everything. By this time I was so upset that I just paid for everything and swore I would never go back to that restaurant. You need to teach your servers and manager what customer service is. If you want really good Mexican restaurant go to Don Jose's Mexican grill, in Gibbs right next to the Exxon, they best food you will ever eat, with customer service that is out...

It was my sons 15th birthday. He wanted to do the birthday song with the somebreo & the pie in the face. I called last night abs adjective if the still did all of this. He said yes. We drive over 45 minutes to get here. After we got seated, I went and asked again, I told him I called last night but I just wanted to make sure. I told them it was his birthday and could they please sing happy birthday with the somebreo and the pie in the face. He said sure if that's what you want. We ordered & ate. Food was just OK. Not bad but not great either. That did not bother me as we came for the pie in the face experience. As we packed up our food the waiter mouthed "are you ready" and I gave a thumbs up. They came & sang happy birthday but no pie in the face. We waited & just starred at each other like where's the pie??? As we began to leave his dad asked what happened to the pie & was told they haven't been doing it much lately due to issues. OK so why wouldn't they say that at any other point of me asking on the phone last night, or when we got there, or right before when he asked if we were ready. Entire birthday lunch ruined. That was the only reason we came & the only thing he asked for. We will...

I gave a 4 star but in reality it's a 2 star rating.

The waitress was nice. The service was good. I give a 4 star to her but a 2 star for the food.

The ambiance did not make me feel welcomed. I was even impatient while reading the menu. Maybe it was the lack of lighting. The prices were too expensive.

The salsa was hot (as in picante). In fact too picante as I had to put lots of sugar to cut the acid. There were not many choices on the menu (see pictures). And not much for lunch specials either. The tortillas were not warm.

I ordered the Chicken Fajitas. The chicken was cooked but almost had no flavor. For once the rice had flavor, but it was dry. The lettuce tasted funny and the texture almost tasted paper/plastic. The guacamole was ok. The pico de Gaillo did not have much taste. In fact there was not much of it, just a few pieces of tomatoes and cilantro.

Usually I bring home the left overs but not this time. As you can see there is left over on the plate.

I'm definitely NOT coming back here even if someone else is paying.

Update: I hope the lettuce is not part of the recalled ones and they used it because I'm not feeling well. And I hope I don't have heartburn later because...

If you want some good Comfort Food, I recommend Cancun Mexican Restaurant in Halls. North Knoxville. They have a Vast menu of Mexican dishes that are very good and if you have a taste for the Alcohol or Desserts, they have those too. I remember when Cancun first opened in North Knoxville, they were right in the heart of Fountain City, near Arby's. Several years ago they moved to Halls Crossroads area and are located on Crippen Road. I love the Sampler Platter, Queso Flameado, Fajita Taco Salad, Burrito Mexicano, Fajita Quesadilla, Steak Fajita, Fried Ice Cream, Sopapilla and Flan are all my Favorites. I was happy to see they added Bowls, more selection for Nachos and a New Favorite of Arroz Con Pollo. I do recommend Arroz Con Pollo but I do not prefer the Bed of Rice with my orders. Their restaurant is clean, plenty of parking, Wheelchair accessible as well, and The Staff are friendly & helpful.

Me and my wife went about 130 today (sunday) there was no one there. When we left there was 3 other couples came in. We had a cheese dip. It was really good. Full of flavor. She could not eat much of it do to it being a little spicy. The salsa bar is a cool idea. All the salsa had a very great flavors. They go from a little spicy to really spicy. She had the Spinach quesadilla. It was just ok. It had alot of spinach and cheese in it. I had the 4 enchiladas. 1 beef 1 chicken 1 cheese, 1 bean. Replaced enchilada sauce with cheese sauce. The beef and cheese was good. The the shredded chicken was only seasoned with salt pepper and 1 small strip of onion. The bean was blan. We both ordered a side of rice. Once you get enough salt on it. The flavor was ok. But it was way over cooked. It was mush. She had a jumbo top shelf margarita. She said it was really good.
