Update 7/25/25 - The last 3 or 4 times I have been here it has been excellent. Not sure if they have changed management, ownership or what but my food has been correct and fresh. Not to mention the staff is very friendly and always willing to accommodate. Update my rating.
I am Popeye's biggest fan but sadly I think this place will go out of business soon. It's not because of the product, because they have a great one...it's because of the lack of quality control at this location. When Popeye's chicken is fresh, it is the best around. When it's not...it is the worst. And unfortunately the last 3-4 times I have eaten here the chicken was old and dried out (besides the dry meat you can tell it is old when the breading has fallen off and leaves the dried brown skin exposed.) I ask them how fresh it is and each time they have told me - "it just came up" or "it hasn't been up long." Not sure if they are just not aware of when it came up, if their heat lamps are too hot, or they are just straight up lying to me. I asked them once if I could have fresh chicken dropped and the guy in the back said "Only if you buy a large family box." The KFC in this area is absolutely disgusting but it has a built in fanbase in this area so will probably somehow continue to survive. Bojangles is the new kid on the block here but they have a built in base as well...and a nice breakfast menu. That leaves Popeye's as the odd fried chicken place out. I used to spend a lot of money weekly at this place but have finally stopped going because of how bad the quality is. My wife wasn't aware that I had stopped going so she brought me home chicken the other day. I told her I quit eating there and she said "I asked them if it was fresh and they said it hadn't been up long!" Needless to say it was old and dry as well. Someone needs to do some quality control and stop leaving chicken sitting around for hours. Do better Popeye's or you won't last much longer here.
1/22/25 - Love the canned responses to everyone's negative reviews that don't even show they read or tried to address the problems. Shows they really care... 🙄 Dropping my review from a 3 to a 2 just...

I understand that food takes time to cook and it may not be ready when I arrive. I also understand that others may have ordered something that is ready to eat and being asked to pull forward so they can get their order is reasonable. However, when I order a meal and you ask me to pull forward "because there is a timer," you are asking me to be complicit in your efforts to lie to your corporate management.
Don't ask me to lie for you. If you are going to keep me waiting for twenty minutes on my meal, then you deserve whatever consequences your corporate management have put in place for slow service. If there is no car behind me, and no one else waiting, there is no good reason for you to ask me to pull forward unless you wish to lie about the speed of your service and/or remove all urgency in preparing my food quickly.
And when I ask for a refund for your laziness and insistence that I become complicit in your deception, try not to devolve into a person with the maturity of a toddler who actual throws the money into my hands and slams the...
