Was excited to try Luma Coffee for the first time, as I’m passing through Louisiana on my cross country road trip but I was must say, i’m disappointed. Got the Loco Coco and the Berry Toast. The Loco Coco was good, nice presentation. Berry toast looked like I could whip up within seconds, basic, nothing special was expected but I’m only giving it a low rating because of overall service. Barista that made my order seems like she hated her job. I said thank you to her when I went to pick up both of my order and she completely ignored me. I get it, you don’t have to act like you work at Disneyland but a smile goes a long way. Customer service is super important, I’ve had my share of bad days too, but I leave it at the door.
Anyway, the decor is very Instagramable if you’re into that and Hammond is such a cute little town but I will not be coming back to Luma.
Enjoy your day and remember, even a brief smile could light up someone’s day. Leave the attitude...
Read moreBerry and Cream Toast It’s not just beautiful on the outside. Every piece of this dish that seems so simple… a brioche slice so sweet and soft but toasted so adds just a little crunch, the fresh cream melts in your mouth, it adds such a decadence to this seemingly simple dish. The berry adds a tart and succulent bite surprising your tastebuds in the best way. The drizzle of Honey giving you another wave of a slightly sweeten surprise acclaim its presence be known. Then you realize it’s not over. There’s one perfectly thought out piece of this design left. A mizzle (it’s a word look it up)of mint. Suddenly you get butterflies in your stomach and you realizing someone has created and commonsensical work of art. So enchanting to look at so exciting to consume! Once again, well done Luma...
Read moreLocal coffee shop who roast their own beans, can’t say enough about this awesome late night coffee spot, it’s in a historic drugstore which makes it even more special. Was passing through and was glad to see a coffee shop open past 5 pm !! Not only open but happy to serve and busy , at least 15-20 ppl there with 20 minutes left till closing. The staff was cordial and welcoming. Lots of seating available and even a loft area. Interesting and rotating menu options. There is also a full food menu. I got the 1986, it had a unique flavor profile, not your typical milk based coffee drink. All that was left of pastries for the day was a blueberry muffin, that they outsource from a local bakery daily, it was so moist and delicious!! Will definitely be back if ever in the area!...
