Yama Hibachi & Juicy Seafood — Restaurant in Hammond

"I am utterly dismayed and appalled by the unacceptable experience I had with your establishment. On Saturday, May 25th, 2024, I ordered the shrimp hibachi, which unfortunately led to a horrific case of food poisoning. The next morning, I woke up with excruciating symptoms - chills, nausea, diarrhea, and a pounding headache. I was unable to eat for two days, and my entire weekend was ruined.

To add insult to injury, when I called to request a refund of $17, the manager was incredibly rude and inconsiderate. He had the audacity to ask if I had been hospitalized, implying that my symptoms weren't severe enough to warrant a refund. Let me remind you that not all cases of food poisoning require hospitalization, and sometimes the only course of action is to let the illness run its course.

I was simply seeking a courteous refund and an apology, but instead, I was met with callous disregard. The manager's behavior was appalling, and I am extremely disappointed in the lack of customer care and concern shown by your establishment. I will not be returning and will make sure to share my dreadful experience...

A different type of experience. You enter on the left, place and pay for your order, then wait on your order # to be called. The way the restaurant is set up is like you're supposed to wait to be seated, and someone will come take your order, but that is definitely not the case here. Once we figured out how to place the order, everything else was fine. I think we are just used to wait staff coming to bring drinks and take our order. Food was extremely hot as in temperature but it was very good considering the atmosphere. Very reasonably priced and the amount of food was good also--enough for leftovers (take home) the only suggestion I have is for first timers in this restaurant there is someone there at the hostess station to let you know how to place and wait on your orders. Waitr delivered my chicken Hibachi bowl and it was delicious!!! I couldn't stop eating. Less than a week later I went to the physical location and was able to dine-in the restaurant. It was spacious and clean. Staff was polite, quick, and courteaous. I had another hibachi bowl with chicken and I chose the fried rice base. It is served with yum yum sauce. I asked for soy sauce packets as well. I also had the Mozzarella cheese sticks. They were fried to perfection! Cheese was hot and goey! My friend ordered chicken nuggets appetizer. I did not eat any of those. The hibachi bowl is great! The vegetables are soft. The carrots maybe the hardest vegetable in the bowl, but you can pick and choose which vegetables go into your bowl. Plenty of chicken. Very filling meal. Good portion size. I will be enjoying more...
