I don't usually complain. If something is less than exceptional, I usually chalk it up to a bad day but the experience that I had on June 2, 2025 at Denny's on the Carlisle Pike in PA was nothing short of absolutely unacceptable. I walked in and purchased a Super Bird combo with Seasoned fries and a Moons over My Hammy combo with hashbrowns to go. I waited, received my food and traveled home (about 15 minute) When I got home I opened the boxes to eat and I saw a mess, barely any hash browns, season fries were hard as a rock, bread on both sandwiches were as hard as a rock, cheese was hard as a rock, ham was burnt badly on one side and unheated through the stack that the cook grabbed in a hurry. Same with the turkey only it was 100% spoiled. The tangy taste it left in my mouth almost made me vomit after the first bite. So I did what any sane person who works for a living does, I took it back for a refund. When I drove back to the store, I placed my bag calmly on the counter and explained my situation and that I wanted a refund. I was told to "Wait until the supervisor is finished eating in about 5 minutes and he'd be right out." In other words, We're going to make you wait even longer for our mistake. Long story short after a long series of back and forths, I received a refund in cash since they claimed that they were unable to credit it back to my card. The supervisor and host were both incredibly inadequate and unprofessional at their jobs. The fact that the host told me to just wait until after her boss finished eating was ridiculous. The supervisor was unqualified and had to call his boss to figure out how to refund me. I'm pretty sure it was the same guy that made my horrible meals. This entire place was empty. NO CUSTOMERS. So why was my food not decent or even perfect since there were no other customers to serve? I'll NEVER eat at the Denny's on the Carlisle Pike again and I encourage the public to stay away as well. The staff there is untrained, the host had an attitude and the food is uneatable in...
Read moreOk, I waited and prayed before posting this one as this was only my second time inside of this restAurant chain. The first time I stepped in a Denny's it was the worst restaurant experience this far in my life. This occurred in the late 1990's at a location in Frederick, MD. My fellow Army Soldiers and I, driving Military vehicles parked in the lot and we're greeted by patrons displaying confederate flags on their vehicles. Ignoring that we entered the somewhat busy establishment anyway, all dressed in BDUs. Our group of about 10 was made up of Black, White and Asian and Latino Soldiers. We waited for about 20 minutes with not one employee saying a word to us. Instead of just seating ourselves, we decided to leave. Fast forward almost 30 years later, my Lady wanted some breakfast after her facial, manicure and pedicure so she decided on Denny's. We entered an almost empty establishment where we were greeted and seated after about 2-3 minutes. We were the only Black Americans there at the time and seated in a section with two other tables of patrons. Our order was taken and drinks brought back. Our food, however took longer than expected as we both ordered French toast and eggs. Another couple entered after we ordered, were seated in the same section but received their meal before us. When our meal finally arrived, the presentation was HORRIBLE!!! The eggs were just thrown on the plate, the bottoms of all the French toast was burnt and the bacon was burnt and well. We immediately requested the Manager, who was AMAZING. She quickly apologized and offered to personally make our food. When our fresh meal arrived, it looked better than the commercial and didn't take as long as our original meal (My apologies for not taking photos as by then we just wanted to eat and leave). How can a chef prepare food in that manner? More importantly, how could a server serve food that looked as bad as ours did? The Manager is the only reason this review was...
Read moreThis was a very mixed experience for me, when we picked the food up we were greeted by a friendly staff and the food was there for us when we came. Once we came home we noticed we were missing two sides (biscuits and fries), and the pot roast which cost 11 dollars came in a small sized box. We’d normally go back but it was a 45 minute round trip. So off to a bad start but it improved greatly from there, the kids chicken tenders with silver dollar pancakes we got was only supposed to come with two tenders and three small pancakes however instead we got 5 tenders and 3 large pancakes (larger than my hand and about as thick as a quarter!) both the chicken and the pancakes were delicious. The pot roast which was mentioned earlier, even though it was in a small little container, they still stuffed it like crazy, so much so that it filled an entire plate. We also received a side of pancakes (which should’ve been blueberry but again they messed up and it was just plain), but again these pancake were absolutely humongous, bigger than my face, so big they barely even fit in the container. The last item we got was a hamburger and fries, and even though it was from Denny’s, it was still amazing, better than a lot of restaurants where burgers are their specialty, it was very surprising for Denny’s, again huge portions. All around this was still a delicious meal, I just wished they had gotten our order correct from the start. We have since called the store to try to get a refund on our missing items but no one was...
