I’m from Vegas and told a friend of mine that’s from virgina I was coming for a visit and she told me I had to try the skrimp shack for the best shrimp and crab PO boy, she knows I’m a sucker for a good PO boy with hot sauce ! She told me I wouldn’t need any hot sauce just go to the Skrimp shack and the secret sauce in the sandwich is all you will need . I was immediately curious because of the name “skrimp” I imiediettly thought this must be some good home type cooking and she said that’s exactly what it is. Fast forward a week later I land in VA beach and decide to head to the closest “Skrimp shack” location which was the Mallory location that was about 30 minutes away , kind of a bit of a drive but I said what the heck. When I got to the restaurant I was immediately greeted by a sweet cashier named Vivian , I told her a friend from home recommended I come here and what she thought I should get , just like my friend from home she said the Shrimp and Crab meat PO boy is what we’re famous for and she recommend I get it with home style frys and Mac and cheese . The food came out very quickly and was brought to me by the manager ! Her name was Suna and she was so sweet and wanted to personally bring me my food because a friend all the way from Vegas had recommend the restaurant ! After brining my food and chatting with me for a few minutes I watched her go to every table and ask how their food was and if anyone needed anything it was nice to see in a manager you could tell she genuinely cared that we were all enjoying our meal. Now to the sandwich . My god . It was mouthwatering and huge ! Plenty of shrimp and crab for two people in my opinion everything tasted very fresh and nice and hott! And whatever is in that sauce they have something there ! I come from Vegas where the food industry is incredible and even with a mom and pop type feel of food at the Skrimp shack the cleanliness of the restaurant and the care and attention the staff was giving the guest I would choose this spot as my favorite seafood...

My husband and I went there Wednesday night and upon pulling up in the little shopping center, we saw that there was a line. I mean, that's always good news, right? Lines mean good food! The restaurant is very very very bright and clean. I love their menu board, and the little posters and little sayings hanging on the wall. They were funny and really brought the decoration together.
The service was very quick, and even though there were quiet a few people in front of us who ordered we were out of there between 10-15 minutes. During my time there, I saw the servers cleaning and making sure that the self serve soda section was clean and well stocked with essentials.
Our order was one crabmeat and skrimp po' boy, fat flounder sandwich, and sweet potato fries. When the bill came up, I was a little shocked because I found it a bit pricey. Going home though, and seeing the sandwiches the prices and warranted! The po' boy was STACKED. I mean shrimp on shrimp on fat shrimp with chunks of crabmeat. You can tell that it's actually shrimp instead of those frozen things you get that's overly breaded. The sandwich on the other hand was just bursting with fish. It did get a bit messy though so I'm glad I got to eat it in the privacy of my own because I went to TOWN. The sweet potato fries were also so so so tasty. So much that they didn't even make it home and my husband snacked on them on the way home.

Read moreI've been to several Skrimp Shack in the Hampton Roads area and this location I'm sorry to say was the worst experience. On Saturday night August 22nd i ordered 2 Fat Combo with grilled shrimp that came to almost $50 dollars. After waiting for almost 45 minutes in this very smoky restaurant in which back and front door had to be opened to let out smoke. When they call me to the counter to pick up my order they gave me the wrong order. After I showed them my receipt the cashier replied I think we gave your order to someone else with the same name. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt and agreed on them remaking my order since it was already close to closing and my wife and kids were ready to eat. After sitting patiently for another 30 minutes watching new customers placing orders and leaving with their orders and approached the counter and asked where is my food? After another excuse I asked to speak with the manager who had an attitude and told it's taking longer because she burnt up the my order and had to remake it. Once I finally received my order approaching 2 hrs the order was wrong. When I brought this to the manager attention she really got an attitude and went to the back cursing and told another cook to cook what I said was missing. I asked for her name and her supervisor name and left the restaurant without the food that was left out of...
