My Lobster Fanatic Mom could not wait to grab some 2 for $14.66 lobsters at Wally’s. There we were 5pm…now seven of us. Mother, Father, Son (ME), Daughter, Daughter in law, and my 21-year-old son and 20-year-old daughter. We marched back to the picnic tables and quickly put in our Lobster and drink order with Sierra. She was fast, courteous, and (hahahaha) courageous…You know…with all them lobster juices flying around. The lobsters arrived hot and cooked to perfection with plenty of butter and all the accoutrements to get every bit of meat out of those creatures. My Mom boils lobster at home often (she claims no one makes it better than she) and raved about the size and quantity of meat in each delicious bite. She swears both of hers were 1 ½ pounds at Wally’s. None appeared less than 1 ¼ pound. Here we are five days later and she is still talking about it.
Wednesday was wing day at Wally’s. 10 cents each. Wait…What? Yep!!! We met Rachel during a quick lunch encounter. Seven of us each ordered a different flavor. Rachel was fantastic. She was gracious and attentive with just the right amount of attention paid to us. I am now beginning to wonder what kind of voodoo magic Al and Erica have. Even at half-staff, all of our interactions with his employees have been beyond delightful. OK. Back to the wings. I can normally house 30 wings easy; Although, 10 was plenty here. I was told 10 would fill me up two days earlier by a friend who frequents Wally’s. You can get an order of 10 with every drink purchase. The average person will likely be happy with half of that. The entirety of the table was full after our meal. The Honey Buffalo and Garlic Parmesan were my favorite. I typically enjoy my wings spicy, but found the Spicy Shark too overwhelming. It wasn’t too hot, just too peppery for me. Not a complaint, just a tasteful observation. The buffalo were very good too, but the crispiness of the garlic parm and Honey Buff, won the wing war (table consensus).
Later that day, we brought my nephew, his wife, and daughter back to Wally’s for more Wing Wars. Rachel greeted us again…Still smiling. Although, she was 8 hours into her shift, Rachel was kinder and sweeter than prior...if that is possible…I think we grew on her. She was determined to make our second visit of the day equally enjoyable. She truly cares about people and their experiences…it shows. For tonight’s meal, we tried the Cajun Butter and Jalapeno. The Cajun Butter had that same crispy consistency we enjoyed earlier in the day. My nephew also ordered another basket of Honey Buffalo. He loved them! He can also house 30 wings on a good day but the 30 wing challenge ended at 15 for him. I am telling you; they are incredibly filling. They also provide a large (about three ounces) of either ranch or blue cheese at no charge. I feel guilty…Should I feel guilty? We also added a steak bomb to the order. The tenderness and quality of the steak was outrageously divine. Split one…The steak is cut up in tiny little cubes (Mexican Taco truck style). I still cannot believe how tasty and filling it was. Probably, one of my favorite Steak and Cheeses ever. Only $12 Everyday??? C’mon… We ordered the fish and chips too (Very Good!). Split it.
It was late Thursday and our group was hangry from the heat. We hadn’t eaten since lunch (11:45am) My nephew yells “$5.00 Pizzas at Wally’s on Thursdays!!!” We crankily moped over and grabbed a picnic table. OMG…it’s fricking Rachel again. She seemed happy to see us and I think it was still about 90 degrees under the tent. I think she was happy to see us. Matter of fact, she said she was happy to see us. We ordered 2…no…make that three pizzas for the table of 5. The pizza was enjoyed by all (My wife loved that the peppers were fresh). The pizza was better than anything on the Drive for sure. To get a whole pizza for less than what it cost for a slice on Ocean BLVD, is absolutely ridiculous. Thank...
Read moreThis would be zero stars. If that was a thing. I’m a 45 year old man. I tried to explain to the young people at the door . We went to the third eye Blind concert, we were at another bar (McGirks) at closing they told us we could get pizza at christy’s & get a drink at Wally’s . We got a slice. At Christys & tried to bring it over to have a last drink at Wally’s . The bouncer & some girl told us we couldn’t bring outside food in. Our 2 friends were at the bar & we wanted to join them for a drink. The bouncer told my fiancé that we couldn’t bring outside food in. I said oh do you serve food? The hostess said yes we are a restaurant. I said are you serving now? We didn’t know. Miss we are just trying to have a drink with our friends and a slice. My fiancé had immediately left. I was trying to understand. . The hostess then targeted my fiancé who Was on the street eating a slice and said “you can’t eat pizza on our property “ you need to leave. I said miss she isn’t on your property she is on the sidewalk. Please just let us have a drink with our friends we just want to have a drink snd a slice we didn’t know u served food can you just relax? Then the bouncer put his hands on me and tried to Push me out the door & said all right you need to go. I said “ are you serious? I’m a 45 year old man. How old are you? Why are you putting your hands on me? . They kept pushing me out the door &’said see the name? It’s wally’s that means we don’t give a f uck about customers. I said are you are familiar with yelp & TripAdvisor all these these things? I said I will tell people how you are treating us. They said it doesn’t matter. You won’t remember our names. Which is true. I am terrible with names and dates . This was at 12:30 am Friday night / Saturday morning. On October 6/7 . Like I said . I never gave resistance even after the bouncer decided to assault me & push me out the door repeatedly. I didn’t lift a finger. I was just really taken aback by the rude & juvenile behavior by the staff. We left without any incident but anyone that doesn’t want to drink or eat at a place run by a bunch of bully children should never go here. They think they will not be held accountable for how they treat customers for some reason. This is more for the owners and other tourists. We just wanted a peaceful drink not physical assault before we even set foot in the establishment over a slice of pizza from next door. Again we were not at all the aggressors here. Even after my fiancé complied with their request the hostess kept verbally abusing her I did nothing to retaliate other than ask questions & was physically assaulted. It was pretty...
Read moreWhile vacationing in Hampton Beach, we decided to grab burgers for a late lunch from Wally's because it was within walking distance of our hotel room. This was around 2pm (06/29/22). Before I even mention anything about the food, let me just say that the woman who took my phone call was extremely impatient & had a rude tone as well. That was not impressive at all! Here I am on vacation with my family, the last thing I want to deal with is a nasty, bad attitude. Anyway, we ordered our burgers to go & because I was ordering for three different people, I was trying to be as specific as possible about what each person wanted on their burger. The woman had questions for each burger which was understandable, such as how did we want them cooked & what kind of cheese on them, so I explained this to her. In the midst of giving my order (and speaking clearly & slowly!) she literally cuts me off hastily mid sentence to ask a question, so I again explained in detail again what each person wanted. She got all flustered over something, and told me she had to "start all over again" because obviously she didn't have this written down correctly the first time. Unless they charge for condiments, I don't understand why she couldn't just add them after? She told me 20-25 mins which seemed like kind of a lot for a few burgers, but regardless they were ready upon arrival & they were fairly decent burgers. However, like I said, very rude service over the phone when ordering, as well as in person at pick up. I sent someone other than myself to pick up because it would be easier & faster, rather than walking with my little ones. They also forgot mustard, which I ordered for one of the burgers..I told her I wanted everything on the side, so you'd think everything would include mustard, but apparently not! The prices were fair. I would've preferred not to be treated disrespectfully though. Not sure if we'll be returning. The burgers deserve at least 3 stars, service is much less. Maybe she shouldn't take orders if she finds it so stressful! Especially considering the fact that Hampton Beach is a popular tourist area & vacation spot, you'd think they'd be familiar & experienced with large orders, and this wasn't even really one! Please be more polite to your customers, Wally's. It would be nice to rate the service as well...
