IHOP — Restaurant in Hanford

Our server, Jamie M., was completely inattentive throughout our entire visit and seemed annoyed at us being there. 1st) After taking our drink order it took a good 10 minutes to receive. 2) Our food then took a bit to receive but nothing to worry too much about. ...almost like the kitchen wasn't the problem.... 3) Did not remember to bring out part of the food order and had to be reminded. 4) Did not check back on the table after the missing food was delivered. Did not check about refills/more drinks or even satisfaction with food. 5) Had to be waved over to our table in order to get more drinks. 6) Brought back only one of the requested drinks. Forgot one, a water, of all things. 7) Did not come back with the water for 20 minutes. 8) After we were boxed up and ready to leave, we had to wait about 10 minutes for her to even get to the counter to check us out. In that time she walked passed and could see us waiting there twice. 9)Only at the end of the visit, after being asked for the check, did she strick up any kind of polite small talk. As if she was trying to 'save' the interaction. *It is also due to be noted that during our visit there were only 7 tables in use. Only 7 parties. All of which seemed to be getting served...some larger parties were even served faster and checked out before she could even be bothered to bring the water to our table. I have never experienced anything of this sort at any IHOP and normally would go to this location for it's customer service. I am very disappointed and will not be returning. The waitress was that awful to the reputation of this store...and really IHOP as a whole. I won't be returning. The food was not the problem here, but...

We went in and it took 10 minutes before they even came to seat us. There was nobody in the restaurant just a couple of tables with people that had already gotten their food. Finally someone comes up and asks us if we had been waited on and I said no, then she asked us what we wanted to drink and if we were ready to order and I said we'll order when you come back with the drinks and we told her what we wanted to drink. She left and never came back. After sitting there and sitting there and sitting there and sitting there just waiting on the drinks, I finally got up and left. This place has gotten really bad about that and I will never go back there again. We left and went to Denny's. The last time I was there same thing also, it took forever for them to get around to waiting on us and the place was empty then too, nobody in there but us and one or two other tables. I'll never go back. Denny's is way better and they are a lot quicker and their prices are also a little cheaper. At least if there was decent service here it would not be so bad, that would probably make up for their outrageous prices. But since both suck, I go to Denny's now instead. You just lost yourself five customers. I don't know who the waitress was but it was around 3 today on a Saturday. And I looked in the back around the corner towards the kitchen area and she was back there milling around joking around with one of the other employees taking...

So IHOP has been my GO TO for breakfast. I do enjoy the food there, but my most recent experience was pretty terrible. I'm not sure if our waiter was overwhelmed or just plain rude, but it was an experience I'll never forget.

I was in a group of 4. All separate tickets. As our waiter hands us the menus, he knocks over the Tabasco sauce, picks it up, and sticks it in his apron, which I thought was odd because we'd need it for later.

Then 3 of 4 of us ordered coffee. Getting our waiters' attention was difficult for refills, and eventually asked another waitress for help. Eventually, our waiter brings out a pitcher of coffee. Trying to get more creamer for the coffee proved difficult as well.

Then, when we got our waiters attention for coffee creamer, when he came back, there were many times he threw the coffee creamer packets onto the table. 😳

Our waiter rarely checked up on us, and I never got any refills on my diet soda.

So I asked for my diet soda to go, the waiter did not confirm it was diet and gave me a cup with regular soda. I didn't realize until I was in the car driving away and had to toss it when I got home.

I'm not sure if our waiter was new or if he's usually like this, but his service and attention to detail just plain sucked. I'm not giving up on IHOP yet, but I sure as hell won't be seated in his...
