Mariscos El Amigo II — Restaurant in Hanover Township

We’ve visited the restaurant before & really enjoyed it. So when we went back a couple of years later to eat again we had a terrible experience. We ordered two dinners with an extra fish taco. When she put the taco down we noticed something shinny on the top & it turned out to be a piece of plastic or something we’re not sure what it was. It took forever to get someone’s attention & when we finally did she said she’d get us another one. When we got the bill it wasn’t itimized but listed a dollar amount in hand writing. When we asked for a itemized one we saw they had changed us for both tacos not removing the original one they took back. Throughout the entire meal it was very difficult to get anyone’s attention if we needed anything or wanted to leave. When we went up to the counter to pay without rellling us if we used a credit card there would be 4% convenience fee. When we asked the girl who rang up our charge she said she kept repeating she didn’t charge it. Well she lied & she had charged the additional 4% fee which is way more than a crest card processing company would charge them. I went to this restaurant on 12/02/18. Food was decent and service was ok. However, when I asked for the bill, they give me hand written bill only with total on it, not itemized. I asked for itemized bill and when I got the bill there was charge of almost $2.00 saying convenience. I asked what that was and they said it's for using credit card. I told them its illegal for them to do that without posting the notice in the restaurant. They replied they can do that due to law was just passed. I looked it up and convenient fee is used when we order thing on line or via telephone nor for eating inside of restaurants. Again they can if they post the notice in the restaurant where customers can see the sign. I am just wondering how many people they have ripped off by charging convenience fee without telling the customer since on their bill only has total amount not itemized bill. If any establishment is going to charge convenience fee for using credit card then they should advise customer before charge is put...

It was my second time here and all i have to say is the food is great!! The service though is horrible. During our dining 3 women were taking care of the customers. 2 were rude but 1 of them was really nice (the bartender thinner girl) the servers kept trying to take my drink when i was still not finished (had half still) and one of them even put their hands all over my drink so i had to just let them take it after she touched it all . They never came back to check on me and my wife. They were also trying to charge a extra drink and chips even tho it took 32mins exactly to bring them to us. We rejected them since we were heading out but the older lady said we had to pay for it. I clearly did not pay for something i did not eat or even enjoy. I will never come back...
