Unfortunately, this was our first and last time going to Pop's. Perhaps our expectations were too high, but my thought was that it would be comparable to Lion's Choice, a St. Louis based italian beef chain. The italian beef only came as well-done and was very dry for being soaked in Aujus. The bun was soggy from all the aujus, but it seems like it's fairly flavorless aujus as it just tasted like wet bread. Is this a thing for this area? This is the second restaurant we've ate at here with no seasoning. There was no aujus included to dip the sandwich in which I would expect given it only comes as well-done. When I ordered I was asked if I wanted cheese and peppers, I said no cheese but received just beef and bread.
Two sandwiches, fries and drinks came to ~$30, way too much for food of this quality.
The mens room has one toilet, two urinals and no stalls or dividers. Also no paper-towels, just a hand-dryer that wouldn't dry your hands in a half-hour.
The only reason I'm giving it two stars is because the portion sizes...
Read moreThe food is the same quality, flavor, portion (and pricetag) you would expect from any Pop's, The service team however, is a bit inattentive and definitely unenthusiastic.
I come here about twice a month and while they do a great job at preparing the food and preparing it quick, nobody has ever smiled at me. On one occasion, the head supervisor insisted 4 times that I ordered someone else's food and tried to give it to me until I said, "if you wanna give me an entire additional order for free, set it on the counter and I'll take it". Shouldn't have had to go that far.
The atmosphere is... Empty. They do a great job at housekeeping. This place is clean but, lots of empty space here with these tall ceilings and nothing on the walls to absorb acoustics. There's no music being played, nothing to look at in the walls, I'm gonna say outright, this...
Read moreVery disappointed in the food and the quality of service. After having a comp for 20% because of them screwing up our order the previous time. Drove 15 minutes away to get pops and ordered a good amount of food just to get home and for the food to not be warm, it was cold doesn’t travel well. Very skimpy on the product 1 tomato cut in half on a whole sandwich, 10 cheese curds in a small bag for $4.00 that’s only half full. We Called to talk to the owner of pops cedar lake about our service and quality. He ended up belittling us and and yelling at us through person and the phone, told us never to come back to our face after we were just trying to give it another chance and have a good dinner. I will never come back here anyways after how I got treated by the owner of this pop’s very...
