Hard to believe that I would give such a Negative review to a coffee place that has become such a staple in the Oregon area but let me explain... A coffee house is more than just coffee. It's the experience, it's the ambience it's the clientele but most of all it's the customer service. I work in the veterinary industry and we do everything in our power to make sure everybody feels taken care of and loved, I could only hope for as much from a barista. I like to call in my coffee order so I can walk in pay and leave because like many I'm usually running right on time with little time to spare but that is apparently very offensive to one particular employee at peets in happy valley. Normally i dont name drop but my interaction with Rachel a few mornings ago was downright embarrassing. When i called my order in she said they dont accept those ( even though I had been doing it for the last several weeks with nothing but polite oblige from everyone else). It wouldn't have been so bad if she hadn't been so rude about it on the phone. When I arrive I explain that I do that because sometimes they are really backed up and while everyone else apparently has figured out how to have extra time in the morning I sadly haven't mastered that yet. She proceeds to scold me, and tell me that if everyone else can make time then I should make time to. Well the fact of the matter is they're overpriced, acidic coffee just isnt worth that. I do my best every day to make sure that i treat people with respect, and go out of my way to accommodate them, even if its something out of the norm because the fact is, i can...and it really doesnt affect me all that much so why not...but for Rachel, how dare I. It was so awkward the even her co-workers said you know what I don't mind if you call it in to try and make the situation less uncomfortable....Anyway, i digress, so let me tell you about i this wonderful little coffee place even closer to my house ( and maybe yours!!!) That i found...And their coffee is literally delicious, im not just saying that! So if you're looking for reasonably priced coffee (with a dozen milk Alternatives that won't upset your stomach for the rest of the day) see my review on Jim & Patty's Coffee People by the new Fred Meyer! They were so kind and their coffee is so good and yes you can call your order in...
Read moreFor years, Peet’s Coffee and Tea has held a special place in my heart as my go-to coffee haven. When compared to its competitors, Peet’s stands head and shoulders above the rest. Let me share why this cozy coffee nook has captured my loyalty. First and foremost, Peet’s commitment to quality is unwavering. Their meticulously crafted bar drinks set them apart. Unlike the automated processes at other cafes, Peet’s artisans pour their heart and soul into every cup. The result? A symphony of flavors that dance on your taste buds. Whether it’s a perfectly pulled espresso shot or a velvety steamed latte, Peet’s delivers an experience that transcends mere caffeine consumption. And let’s talk about their coffee beans. Freshness is the secret ingredient. Each sip tells a story of carefully roasted beans, their aromatic oils preserved to perfection. When I take that first sip of my beloved Major Dickason’s Blend, I’m transported to a world where coffee is an art form. The robust, dark notes envelop my senses, leaving me craving more. But Peet’s isn’t just about coffee. On leisurely afternoons, I opt for their loose leaf teas—a delightful departure from the usual. There’s something magical about sipping a fragrant Darjeeling from a quaint teapot right there in the store. It’s a moment of tranquility amidst the hustle and bustle. The ambiance at Peet’s is inviting. The store is impeccably clean, and the staff, though infrequent in my visits, are always welcoming. Unfortunately, the distance from my house keeps me from making daily pilgrimages. If only Peet’s had as many locations as its ubiquitous competitor, Starbucks! But even with this limitation, I know one thing for certain: as long as Peet’s remains in business, it will forever be my cherished coffee sanctuary.
So here’s to Peet’s—a beacon of quality, a refuge for coffee enthusiasts, and a testament to the fact that life is indeed too short for...
Read moreDear Peet's Corporate... congratulations, All the customers are talking about how you managed to ruin our beautiful coffee shop. From the warm wood tones and welcoming atmosphere with family and friendly seating to cold grey walls, an elementary school style cafeteria table and Starbucks themed long tables pushed up against the south facing windows that now force you to face the street with the sun glaring in your eyes. What was wrong with us sitting in a cozy atmosphere at a table of four with the great people from the neighborhood you enjoy sitting with and enjoying a cup. We now have 1/3 less seating, which by the way we needed more before you took that away. Happy Valley is NOT PORTLAND MODERN, and our Peet's Happy Valley is NOT a Starbucks, well it wasn't anyway. Cold feeling, No seating, Customers and...
