Wife and I are regulars at this location, and we tend to order the same things on a regular basis. On this particular day, as usual, I order a venti English breakfast only to receive a grande which I thought was an error on my wife's part so by the time I got home I realized the sticker on the side said venti so my wife makes a trip back to get the correct order. She comes back 30 minutes later to tell me how she was treated like they were inconvenienced by their mistake. I take a sip of my tea only to receive a cup that was barely warmer than room temperature. There was absolutely no flavor other than the taste of cream and warm water. I figured since I was leaving for work anyways I would come back and ask them to correct this error. That was a mistake because I encountered the same individual who helped my wife as well. Her name is Amanda, and her response to my issue was trying to understand why my tea has no flavor and debate with me as to why there was even an issue in the first place. I get why they used my existing tea because, in reality there's nothing wrong with it. However, when you add more water or cream it will dilute the flavor of the tea which she did not understand. I even mentioned I am not asking for anything for free. I just want this fixed. Her response back to me was "I am trying to understand the science behind what you are saying". My only response at that point was "Now you are just insulting my intelligence". Her response multiple times was I can't help how you feel... Not true, you can simply not make an argument about the quality of my beverage and fix it for me. I never said it but that was my initial thought. She then proceeds to ask me what I wanted. I simply responded by saying I just want my drink fixed. She finally proceeds to make my drink. She did rush to make my tea for me and try to issue me a gift card, to which I responded that I am not here to get something for free. I only want my drink fixed. I grabbed my drink, and I was told that I needed to dispose of the old drink. This has been a very horrible and unforgettable experience here at this location. Never once did I raise my voice at you. Never once did I say anything mean or even hint at how rude you were. All I wanted was my drink fixed, and you made me feel like I was trying to take advantage of you and the company you represent. Amanda, I have encountered you before on a few occasions, and it is painfully obvious that you are only nice because you are paid to act this way. Their warmth and professionalism are the heart of this location. However, the recent management change under Courtney has adversely affected the atmosphere. Her approach to customers and staff, often belittling and unprofessional, contrasts sharply with the positive environment we've come to love.
The impact on the staff, including reduced hours for some of the best workers, is particularly disheartening. Despite these challenges, I want to commend the staff for maintaining their high standards of service.
My friends and I, all regulars, are concerned about this shift in management. We plan to share our experiences in further reviews and will contact corporate and the Better Business Bureau.
