My friend's and I went to have a relaxing evening but that quickly changed once we met our waiter. He had an extremely poor attitude during our entire time we were there. He acted like we were a waste of his time to serve. We asked for a three waters and a drink for each of us, after he came back he proceeded to tell us they didn't have a blender to make the drinks we asked for, so we asked for different drinks and then he told us they didn't have any cups for water so we had to wait for our water. We waited over twenty minutes for water and he finally brought it out and didn't apologize for the extreme wait for a simple water. After that he asked us what we wanted to eat we gave our orders and he didn't say anything else and left never writing down the order at all. About ten or fifteen minutes later he came back out and ask me my order again, I proceeded to tell him mine again and he asked me if I didn't want tomato and I said no that was my friend, he said oh ok and left again. After about waiting again for another fifteen or twenty minutes our food came out and it was very good and I asked the waiter if I could get another glass of water and he just gave me a "ya sure" and walked away. Once again I waited for my water for another fifteen minutes he comes back to the table with nothing in his hands. Asked us if we were ready for the bill and we just said yes because we were done trying to deal with this waiter, not even two minutes later had the bill at the table and left quickly never really saying anything to us. We decided after the poor service we received we didn't leave a tip, which I never do unless deserved, after we left we were sitting in the parking lot so my friends could smoke and we could see into the dining area and the waiter was looking out at us. He was complaining to another waiter that we were ignoring him and we were being unfriendly towards him. My one friend went back inside and heard him saying this, we couldn't believe this after he came back out and told us what happened. This was one of the worst experiences I've had at a restaurant, the owner is going to be receiving a...
Read moreThis used to be a good place to go for some good reasonably priced food. But within the last 6 months it has gone downhill. The food that is served is not good the chicken wings are tiny and burnt to a crisp the burgers are very bland and there is basically no desert selection. Not only had the food gotten bad but so has the service. The waiter I had joe, was very rude! I asked about the wings and had told him of my experience before with them being small and burnt and he proceeded to tell me that it was from the dry rub they used. I told him I had gotten wings there before and they didn’t look like that and he continued to dismiss my complaints with the excuse of that’s the way it is because of the rub. One of our members had to leave early, do we asked him to take her order. He had said he would wait until the whole table was ready even after telling him she had to leave early. I asked to see the manager because of the treatment we had gotten and the female manager with dark hair came over I proceeded to tell her of the service we received as well as the treatment of our guest who had to leave without ordering anything. (What business turns away business?) and she proceeded to make excuses about it being a busy night, and everyone’s service was slow, and then proceeded to tell me NOT to talk bad about the server!?!? Well she asked how my service was so I told her. I will never go there again to overpay for sub par mediocre food and terrible treatment by not only the server but also the management! Don’t waste your time or money...
Read moreI have been here several times.
The decor is great, hard to believe that the Tim Hortons next door and the Harbor House used to be a sketchy Ponderosa steakhouse.
Like the other upick6 establishments the Harbor House has a great beer selection (more than 20 taps in various style) along with a sizable section of bottles and cans.
The food is pretty good. Despite the name this menu is not seafood centric, focusing more on pizzas, flat breads and strombolis. The carbonara pizza with diced pancetta, prosciutto and topped with a fried egg is my favorite so far. There is a semi open kitchen with a front facing brick pizza oven so you can see your pizza being made.
There is a also a variety of salads and sandwiches and appetizers (including vegetarian options) . Not quite as adventurous gastropub fare as say Jekyll and Hyde's downtown but definitely not a sparse menu.
The staff is friendly and when the bar is not busy the bartenders are quite talkative ( if you are into that).
There are also several televisions hung on the walls and a jukebox, but neither is very obtrusive if you don't want to have a conversation.
There is an outdoor patio, but being that this place in Erie it does not get much use in the colder months.
Takeout...
