Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in Harborcreek Township

I had to up my ratings to 5 stars bcuz everytime i go to Giant Eagle in Harborcreek everyone is so nice!! I only lowered it to 4stars bcuz i was caught off guard that we suddenly have to pay for bags, which is fine, but not when u got a full cart of groceries and DIDN'T kno they switched to dat policy!! But i cant take dat out on da employees bcuz its not dere fault and i truly appreciate them so much!! I wish i had all dere names to list!! I have to say dat Ms Denice & Mr Issac dat work up front & Ms Marcy in deli r EXCEPTIONAL ppl, not employees, but PEOPLE!! They go up & beyond in jus havin AMAZIN personalities!! Ms Denice was so helpful & supportive when it was hard to find formula for my babii, she actually CARED & tried to see if & when they would get more in!! She was so kind and caring abt the fact my baby, who she doesn't even kno, not having any formula!! I appreciate her so much!! Mr Issac always makes me laugh, he's an amazin individual and always so helpful!! And of course Ms Marcy in deli, i have a good laugh everytime i tell her she gon kill me when i get my cheese lol!! I ask can she plz put a paper in between bcuz if not that cheese STICKS lol but i appreciate her for doing that. I always give her respect and say plz & thank u and im always patient...plus we always have a good laugh!! Local supermarket I have shopped at for years to supplement my main shopping because of its proximity to my home. Produce and baked goods are fresh. Adequate selection of most foods but not a big variety. I will say I have made a polite suggestion to employees at the door ("security") and management directly that the entrance is a horrible logjam. Entering customers have to stop and wait for existing customers and/or "scan, pay, and go" kiosk users. There are several obstacles making this worse such as newspapers, a bakery display table, the floral department immediately at the entrance with floral displays blocking the main path, and more. There are only 2 other entrances: one for the cafe/beer purchase area that has a revolving door that carts can't enter and the pharmacy door that was largely closed during the pandemic. Needless to say, what a FIRE HAZARD! This store is so haphazardly set up. Some polite employees for certain but this is not a store where you are asked, "have you found what you are looking for?" or "how can I help you?" and good old fashioned customer service as policy goes a long way in making the...

The Harborcreek Giant Eagle is a nice store. They make some of the best subs in Erie. Their secret? The bread that they bake on site. They have really great sub rolls and they use quality meats and cheeses. I think they're better than Wegmans. Although, the beer store is a little pricier than Wegmans and doesn't have as good of a selection. The USDA Choice steak they have on sale almost every week is terrible. I know, how how is that possible? Every time I buy steak from Giant Eagle it looks OK, but when I cook it, it's sub par. I'm not kidding. I've tried Giant Eagle strip steak and rib eye numerous times and it always disappoints compared to Sam's Club and Wegmans. I don't know where they are getting their meat from, but it isn't very good. I don't know about the rest of the meat they offer, that might be OK. The only other complaint I have about Giant Eagle is almost everything is way overpriced unless it is on sale.
