Gorditas Doña Lula — Restaurant in Harlingen

The food was great, which makes sense since gorditas is in the name. Salsas are flavorful. Combo de la casa was not worth it as the fideo was cold. It is better to buy each gordita a la carte, in my opinion, even if they're a bit on the smaller side. The meat filling is great. What put us off during our experience was customer service. First off, the older lady cashier was rushing us and seemed irritated when we asked questions after telling her it was our first time there. After telling her she forgot one gordita from the order, she argued, saying it wasn't asked for when it was the first thing we said. That's alright to forget, but she didn't even offer if we wanted to order it again. There was an employee who was in the restroom with his music full blast, and after he got out, he sat down in the front and didnt get up again. My mom got up to ask about refills, and she was answered with a curt reply of "si" like she was bothering them. After that, we could feel them all turn and stare at us after getting our refills and when we left. It's not a very welcoming atmosphere, although there was one busboy (he did not wear a cap like the other one who played his music era mas alto) who was dutifully doing his job and keeping the dining area clean. They make pretty good food and just need to reevaluate their manners and way of speaking to customers. Would maybe go to another location, perhaps not...

Need to train all employees how to be cashiers. Had to wait 20 plus minutes at the window to wait until another employee who decided to be late to cash me out, even at that when she arrives she still took her time pondering around instead of realizing there is a line of customers inside and at the drive thru and start catching up. At the end, my order was still not ready after all the wait and had to leave my order behind. Over all very disappointing, but wait it gets better .. I decided to go to the one near sams, they open at 8 am.. what happened when I get there? Their closed! No one’s home! Lol dona lula your staff needs some retraining...

4/1 drive thru ordered 3 gorditas about 11:30.. I won’t go back! Someone doesn’t know how to slice open the masa tortillas.. they are in pieces & all filling falls out! I complained about this 4 mos ago.. NOT PAYING ATTENTION, this was my last time! Way to ruin a good thing!! Bring the old staff back!!!
