This doesn't give me any pleasure writing this because I try so hard to support local businesses. Let me start off with the pros .....the food is very, very good. I have NO complaints about the food at all. I've ordered different things.....wings, seafood supreme, etc....everything has always been well prepared & well seasoned. Drinks are decent in size & price (although, they should have tea, lemonade or some non carbonated option.....they don't).
Cons - 1st time we went, we stood by the entrance about 20 minutes before getting addressed (no exaggeration). No, it wasn't that crowded (3 people at the bar & 1 other couple eating). So we thought that maybe we just so happen to catch the waitress during her break. 2nd time we went, our food sat ready for pick-up about 10 minutes in the back. The cook ended up bringing it to us. He apologized but that's just ridiculous and needless to say it wasn't hot (not cold but not hot). Once again, it wasn't that crowded and we had to wait about 20 minutes for our check. 3rd time didn't happen. Why? We called from Philly during our layover. Asked what time they closed. Lady said 11. We got there at 9:45 & she said the kitchen is closed now but they're still serving drinks. Told her we called & she replied,"yeah, it happens." It happens!?! Lastly, they started an online order portal. I placed my order online when I got to the train station & then walked (approx 20 mins). During my walk, I get an e-mail that they haven't responded to my order. I figured I'll just have to wait when I get there. Get there around 7:30 on a Friday night and the door is locked. Lights are on, music is blasting but no one is answering the phone. I wait about 20 minutes before calling ride service. Took ride service about 10 minutes to get there and still no change. I'm still waiting for a refund of my payment! This may seem like a small things, but there are other nuisances I didn't mention. This just isn't the place for me! I would have given a "1" but the food alone carries 2 or 3 stars by itself.....the rest of...
Read moreI've been to district twice. The first time was a Saturday I enjoyed it because they had a really good dj. I didn't order food but had drinks. My first experience led me to go again which my 2nd experience caused me not want to attend again. I was with a friend and I ordered wings, fries and a drink. The server first brought over the drinks. Then not to long after she brought out the food she was on her cell phone on a personal call while serving which I thought was super unprofessional. She brought out the food I had 6 o'bay wings and my other 6 wings were some type of mango flavored wings which I didn't like. Ps. There was a long string of hair in my food which I didn't even address to the server which I should have. I just simply asked to exchange out my wings for something else b/c I didn't like it. The server quickly got a nasty attitude and said "you already ate from it the it has the bones in it" I then said ok and left it at that. She still wanted to pursue the conversation after I was done with it. I was irritated for the rest of the night while my friend was finishing up his food and then he proceeded to ask me if I wanted to go somewhere else b/c of the shift in my mood. District has a nice ambiance and really good music but it's like the minute that I felt that there was finally! A place that I can go to in Harrisburg in an urban setting I was let down because of my experience with the "server" with the nasty attitude I wish that I got her name. Never Again! Customer service is soooo important and needs to be implemented...
Read moreUsually I Get The Jerk Chicken + Shrimp Caesar Salad To Go. This Time I Dined In & Explored The Menu. The Salad Now Is More Of A House Salad, I Had To Ask For The Croutons & Cheese. Besides The Salad I Had:
Honey Sriracha Wings For An App But They Came Out After My Salad & I Just Took Those Home. Cajun Cream Pasta With Chicken & Got A Side Of Greens With Smoked Turkey. - The Pasta Was Good Just Kind Of Oily & The Greens Were A Bit Salty Strawberry Short Pound Cake - Delicious 10/10 !
I Also Ordered 3 Long Islands & 2 Henny Punches. My First Two Long Islands Made By Shante Were Good But The One Made By The Tall Lightskin Bartender With The Ombré Braids Tasted Like Club Soda… Even Though Her Drinks Were Better Shante Seemed To Have A Bit Of An Attitude While Serving Me. I Also Ordered For My Family & I Heard No Complaints Expect For The Vegetables, It Was Cooked Celery With Carrots & Onions… Not What I Expected For Vegetable Blend But It’s Chef’s Choice…
I Had An Okay Experience Overall. I Think I’ll Stick To The Salad To Go. I Did Notice I Was Charged $26.46 For “VIP BOTTLE SERVICE” Which I Thought Was Weird Because I Didn’t Get Any Bottles But I Ordered Food For My Family So Maybe That Was Just Added Gratuity For Having Such...
