It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! Happy Halloween. We had such a special "treat" this week. We went to the new restaurant and bar Rubicon to start an evening of food and drink, Oysters and martinis then great beer on tap.The martini recommended to me was balanced and lovely.Gourmet cocktails are all over this menu. The beers on tap were impressive. I had to switch to beer because as I mentioned it was a very good martini. The atmosphere was conversational with great energy. Music in the background was reminiscent of bossa nova but with modern attributes. You could tell the staff and patrons were enjoying this new space. Then next door we ate dinner at Mangia Qui. My boyfriend can get bored with eating out. He loves all things from the sea and does not eat other meat. He was thrilled to have choices like the octopus as an appetizer. It was amazing, succulent and tender. He then enjoyed calamari with ink infused pasta. This dish makes pasta and squid decadent. I on the other hand eat everything. I started with the foie gras. This is one of my favorite delicacies. This version is now my favorite of the favorites. I almost ordered another. Glad I did not because my entree of veal and lobster was delicious. What a pleasure. The portions were quite large and it was prepared perfectly. We think the owners and staff are walking the walk and not just talking the talk when it comes to community and food. In other words, this pumpkin patch was filled...

We went here to try a new place. The restaurant is on a street with no parking. You have to find street parking which can be difficult at times. We went in, and since we had reservations, we were immediately taken upstairs. Our table was overlooking the bar, which was nice, although the table was small. We made do. Joel was a great server. He answered all of our questions and was very helpful with the menu. The food was delicious, although pricey for the portions. My husband ordered a pasta dish from the specials menu. Truffles are expensive, we know that. The pasta serving could have been more..... pasta is inexpensive, we also know that. For $56 the portion was tiny. I had a little taste. I was afraid the taste more for the fact that the portion was so tiny. Their iberico ham is what drew my husband to this restaurant. The tomato pie was amazing in taste, however, we thought the iberico could have been sliced thinner. Similar to shaved ham. The texture would have been a little better. The taste was amazing. We loved the veal and mortadella meatballs. I also loved the Ahi Tuna for dinner. Everything was so tasty. Just be ready for a hefty bill and...

We happened upon this place is it was near the AirB'n'B we stayed at. Everything was really tasty and the service was spot on. I love the fact that Harrisburg is letting them close off part of the street to serve more people. We sat outside with our puppy, everybody was spooning over her. We had shishitos, foie gras (a special), Caprese, Miche toast (special) Agnello ( braised lamb tagine), spaghetti and meatballs for the kid (she didn't eat them she at mommy's steak) and the tuscan, for dessert the coconut flan. I give them 4 stars for two main reasons- the price (which seems a bit high. 28 for a little foie, 60 for a steak- not dry aged just aged (?) and 10 for the flan which was small and wasn't accompanied by anything (keep in mind its sugar, cream, coconut and vanilla- not very expensive ingredients). And the second reason- we asked for salt, the server give us the feeling that we insulted the house and the chef, like how dare we ask everything is seasoned perfectly. Look everybody has a different level of salt don't give the guest a pompous attitude cause they need a...

I made our reservation a month before and asked to be seated inside. They seated us outside and it was the worst experience! All of us (party of 4) have over 5 mosquito/bug bites. (They did give us bug spray but it did not repel anything!) I did ask our waitress if they were able to move us inside and was told no. Dinner: The truffle pasta is a MUST if you love truffle! (You can order in half or full plate) The Calamarata dish was superb! We did put in a request for a special dessert and they were able to accommodate as best they can. The 20% gratuity is added to your bill even if the service is slow/bad.

Small portions. Don’t ask for a vegetarian option. They will prepare a pile of beans and greens(a small pile). It actually was good, but maybe as a side. Certainly not a main course. If you don’t wish to make a vegetarian entree, just say so. We would have been fine with that. The staff are so stressed out there. You can feel their misery. That was sad, and I just wanted to give them hugs. The clientele are the stuffy type. I’ve been to restaurants that are many times more expensive. The quality at this restaurant just doesn’t equal the cost.
