Beer. Bacon. Beef. Bird. We came to Harrisonburg for vacation. I look up restaurants before every trip and this was one I picked out because they have wagyu beef. I loved the atmosphere because it truly looks like a locals place. They have country music on which I love. The place has lots of character. The parking is a bit of an issue since the Shack is downtown and on the corner. There is a parking lot that is not too far from it but you will have to walk down a hill and the parking may be full if you go at a popular time. There are other places to park you just may have to walk a little ways. Great service. Water was refilled quickly. We ordered a box of applewood bacon. It was like 5 bucks. The bacon had good smoke to it but it was a little too fatty to me and it was not HOT. I ordered the sliders and you could mix and match any two sliders or do two of the same. They came with fries. I got the Greg Brady topped with homemade mac and cheese, American cheddar and bbq chips and a modified Mike Teevee topped with applewood bacon and American cheddar with no bbq sauce nor onions. Fries were just ok. They were not crispy and just basic shoestring fries. My date ordered the wings with buffalo sauce. The meat was tender / fall off the bone and a little crispy on the outside just how he likes it. The buffalo sauce was rich and buttery. The sauce had good heat but not too strong. A solid 8.7 out of 10. I ordered two donuts to try out for dessert. The psycho girl scout was topped with peanut butter, chocolate chips, and marshmallow. It is more of a solid donut with no hole. After my first bite I was like this is the perfect name because this is crazy tasty but so worth it everything just went together perfectly!!!! I loved it all. I would go back to this place just to eat this donut. The other donut I ordered was the muddy pig. It had nutella and bacon crumbles. It was yummy and I love nutella and bacon but no whether need as good as the psycho donut. Both donuts were crispy in all the right places. We didn't order any alcohol but they have a big selection of beers cocktails, etc. They also have a late night menu from 11:30pm of until they close. We would go back but I would make sure I mention I want my sliders medium. He did not ask me how I wanted them cooked but I think I should if I go back so I get something that is a bit more what I like. I would probably try out something else as well. I would get the psycho girl scout donut again and my date would definitely order the wings again. Plus, the service was great so that is hard to find now a days.

I’m a fan of this place!! First off, I love the decor and atmosphere. It’s a small, casual place and that is absolutely over decorated in just right jumbled way. Since it’s officially the Christmas season, there are strands of colorful lights, walls covered with wrapping paper and stuffed just crammed in every nook and cranny. Love it! Second, there’s free parking around the back. Woot! Third, and most importantly, the food is great! My daughter loved her macaroni and cheese. My mom and Mr. M loved their burgers. And my redneck nachos were bomb! For the nachos, you get your choice of having it built in house made chips, fries or tots. Our waitress recommended the tots and I was very pleased with the final product! These things had PLENTY of cheese, some delicious sauce drizzled on top and the most perfect BBQ pork I’ve ever had! It had the best flavor! It wasn’t overly sweet and it wasn’t overly tangy with vinegar. Instead, it had this beautiful balance and some spices I couldn’t quite place. There was a generous serving of pork and I gobbled up most of the whole plate. The service was friendly and we would totally come back! We definitely found a gem today!!

Parking: there is free parking behind the building and more across the street in the back of the building, plus street parking. The food was delicious, we had a couple of burgers 🍔 and some fries. The burgers were well seasoned and made my mouth water for a second bite. The fries were crispy, not to salty and soft and fluffy inside. Dipped in ketchup with hot sauce mixed in they really hot the spot. Service was spectacular with 2 people checking in on us and getting our cold beers to go with our food. It's a quirky looking place that seems to split up into 3 or 4 rooms inside and an outside patio that is dog friendly. The day we are here there were a lot of parents dropping their freshmen off at school so the vibe was sad parents and nervous kids or parents that were thrilled to get the rug rats out of the house with kids that really didn't want to go to school. But either way we enjoyed our visit and would go back. Give this review a like now before it's to late 👍❤️. 🍔 The burgers are 1/4qtr lb but you can add 1 or 2 patties to really turn that burger into a meal😁. OK hot the like button or mark as helpful, thanks, enjoy your meal.

I've been here several times for a quick drink with a friend, but I didn't know what I was missing! Yesterday I met some friends here for brunch, and the food was absolutely AMAZING!!! One of my friends ordered the brunch burrito, and my jaw dropped when it was brought to the table. It was so massive, and loaded with goodness. He's got a big appetite, and that thing filled him up easily. The breakfast nachos were delectable. Especially the gravy they used; there's something unique about it. Best I've ever had. The waffles I ordered were cooked perfectly, and topped with the most delicious strawberry compote. But my absolute favorite was the box of "Sticky Nuggs" I ordered. For around 5 bucks you get a sizable box packed full of perfectly seasoned chicken nuggets that they toss in a special house-made sauce of your choice. I was tempted by all the flavors (especially the Garlic Parmesan) but I opted for the BBQ Bacon Cheddar sauce. Now, I've been to a LOT of establishments that serve chicken in a variety of forms. But this place definitely wins my award for best chicken ever. It was absolutely DIVINE. Even a couple hours after I left, I was craving more of those sticky nuggs. And this morning, as I write this review, I'm considering driving back for another order. Oh, and something I forgot to mention: THE PRICES. You'll be hard-pressed to find a place in Harrisonburg with better prices on their vast selection of food and draft beers. Such great bang for your buck. If I could rate higher than 5 stars, I...

My recent visit to Billy Jack's in Harrisonburg was an absolute delight. This local bar not only impressed me with its fantastic food but also with its top-notch service.

The food at Billy Jack's was nothing short of mouthwatering. The menu offered a great variety of options, from classic pub fare to more innovative dishes, and each one was a testament to the kitchen's skill. I particularly enjoyed the flavorful wings and their signature burgers – they were cooked to perfection and packed with taste. The portions were generous, making it a perfect spot for those seeking a hearty meal. And, of course, you can't go wrong with their selection of drinks to accompany your food.

The service at Billy Jack's was equally commendable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and seemed genuinely passionate about creating a positive dining experience for their customers. Whether it was refilling our drinks or offering menu recommendations, they were always on point, making us feel welcome and well taken care of.

In summary, Billy Jack's in Harrisonburg is a hidden gem for those who appreciate great food and service in a local pub/bar setting. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic meal and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to returning to Billy Jack's for another enjoyable...
