Saigon Kitchen — Restaurant in Hartford

I have been eating at Saigon Kitchen since childhood. Today, was one of the worst experiences I have had and I would like to save others from it. I had just purchase food and my cousin told me she enjoyed the food there so I went to buy her some. When I got there the lady at the counter was absolutely rude. I told her that I would like to place an order for pork fried rice and general Tso chicken. She said that would take too long and told me to get the vegetable fried rice as that would take less time. I told her that the previous meal was a little skimpy on the vegetables so I would prefer to have the pork fried rice. This appeared to upset her and suddenly it became a race issue. She told me if I were a white person you would never say that to me, it's because I am an Asian. I told her that's not true, I would respectfully speak the truth regardless of race. So another customer says to her, you are speaking to us like this because we are black. If we were white people you wouldn't speak like this. She, even with customers in the restaurant, continued to make this a race issue. I am totally displease and disappointed as I have never had an issue with this lady...

Called to order lunch and found the staff incredibly rude. I just moved in across the street and they could have had a regular customer out of me. They also don’t accept cards apparently, only cash. The woman on the phone barely let me get a word in edge-wise. I was calling placing an order for two people and she assumed I was placing an order for one person and trying to substitute things to make one meal, but she wasn’t really listening to me before cutting me off and going on about how they don’t do this and don’t do that and how my food will be expensive. Needless to say, I will find another restaurant within walking distance to frequent where the staff...

I've been eating here since they were in the Richardson food court when I worked downtown in the late 90s. I didn't realize they had a new location and recently came back. The food is great. Today I ordered an item off the lunch menu which wasn't available on the steam table and they made it fresh for me. I'm not gonna lie, it was definitely better. This is great food I would recommend to anybody. The egg roll was great today. I'm not sure why everybody is having problems with the cashier, she has always been polite to me without me being overly friendly, and I've been in the store when other people are there and I've never observed anything...
