Sal's Pizza Hartford — Restaurant in Hartford

We order from Sal’s all the time, we haven’t lately although since the last time we ordered. It was on a Sunday a couple weeks back and we placed our order online like usual. When I went to check my phone wondering where the food was I noticed 2 missed calls and it started ringing again. I answered and it was a woman who works at Sal’s asking if we would like to tip the driver? Which I thought was pretty rude and unprofessional to call and ask if we would leave a tip, which we always do, we always leave a chair out with money under a coaster. She called again while parked in front of my house after dropping the food off, from the same number that called 3 times before, so obviously it was the driver just begging for a tip. I was just appalled by the experience, as we are regulars who always tip. Pizza was ok, garlic knots were cold. My wife loved this place and said we HAD to go while we were in the area, so we placed an online order and went to pick up 25 min or so latter when it said it would be ready. Sat inside for over a half an hour after letting the cashier know I was here to pick up. I don't think they started making the pizza till I got in and told me it would be just a couple minutes. Don't lie, if you didn't start making it, just say so and I could have left and come back, or canceled. The pizza by the slice is miles better than the quick trip or Casey's. It's huge and the crust is crunchy without being chewy or heavy. You also get a garlic roll and marinara sauce with it. Only a dollar more than a slice of pizza at Casey's and it's twice the food and 10 times better. You can really taste the fresh garlic and herbs. The pasta dishes are also very good.
