Wish there was a way to write a review without giving them a star at all. Unfortunately, we receive the same awful delivery driver each time who always gives some ridiculous excuse as to why it was extremely late and our food is always cold. We have had several issues with this driver from how rude he is to him setting all of our food on the floor to what happened today where he blamed the fact that our food was AN HOUR AND A HALF LATE because we were customers. I say We because I work at an office where all of us order from this location ALOT. We spend a lot of money here and are recurring customers. I'll start from the beginning. We placed an order at 11:28am, we would usually order pizza or salads from here for lunch several times a week. We ordered 2 salads, 1 Jr pizza, and bread. It said it was on the road at 12:00. By 12:20 we had still not received the order so we decided to call due to the fact we're 5 minutes or less down the road. A woman picked up who stated they had received a school order so it's a little late but it will be there in 5 minutes. We understood, sometimes things take longer than expected so no biggie. We finally received our food at 12:45. At this point, we were already a little upset, we had been waiting for a while and we were hungry, it's lunchtime, so ofcourse we were. By 12:50 the food finally arrived. We work at a call center, we have a note posted on the door that specifically states that you need to be quiet and lower your voice when entering. He loudly knocks and abruptly opens the door while stating "Who ordered pizza?" very loudly. This was aggravating but who knows, maybe he can't read. So as we are signing the receipts he states "The reason it's always late is because we had a school order to do and we are under contract so they're more important, you guys always order at lunchtime which is when we do the school order so it's always going to be late. I guess you could try ordering at different time or something. But there's nothing we can do. It's always gonna be late." This wasn't said very nicely, he was extremely rude and wasn't as nicely worded as I made it. He did not apologize and blamed us for ordering lunch. The only two hot foods we ordered were cold and rubbery. Bear in mind we only ordered 2 salads, 1 JR pizza, and Howie bread. That's it's. That is not a complicated order. The length of time it took was ridiculous and then to be blamed for ordering lunch at lunchtime was insane. We called the store for a refund due to how many times we have had such poor service, we decided to just ask for a refund and then be done with them. When we called the same woman picked up and we heard her state "I'm not dealing with this" and then transferred our call. She clearly recognized our number and automatically transferred us to the store manager. He immediately blamed us for ordering when they were doing a school order. He said they do it every Wednesday and Friday and by now we should know that our food is always going to be late. He stated that he knew we bought food from there all the time but we simply were not important or a priority, school orders come first. He had our food this whole time but he didn't leave the store to deliver it until the school order was done. We are less than 5 minutes from the store, the fact that he couldn't drop off our food while the school order was being completed so that we could have fresh food is ridiculous. The manager offered no apologies but we did manage to receive a full refund which was the only good thing to come of this. We will no longer be ordering from this company, the customer service is always awful and we have had too many issues. We give them an insane amount of business but that's done with. Read moreI came to pick up my door dash order and asked if they had any spare pizza bags and the kid at the front counter rolled his eyes, turned his back, and as he was walking away saying "Nope sorry!" As there was at least 20 or more delivery bags sitting on the shelf, right in front me. As I left with the order that same kid walked outside like he was mad, to his car that had a hungry howies delivery sign on top.
It's a good thing I live really close to hungry howies, if that is how they treat their contractors, I won't be doing any business with them and I probably will be declining all deliverys going out from them, since I can assume he may not have liked the customer ordering from DD. Which I can certainly understand why that customer had DD deliver it, given the rude behavior I encountered.
Do not recommend until they can fix their attitude.

There really isn't much else to talk about other than what I stated above. His behavior was unprofessional and made feel like I should have left. If the order I was picking up to deliver was for me, I would have walked out and not even asked for a refund. His attitude was hostile.
I went to the hungry howies in Wixom to pick up a delivery for doordash, I asked if I could buy a spare bag from them. The guy said no, I will give you one though... and he very kindly gave me one.

I ordered pick up 2 days ago and when I picked it up, the order was missing a topping. I was very anxious to speak up and mention this, but I drove back around thankfully Ben was the one at the window.
I am on the spectrum & it is very hard for me to articulate properly as I have expressive aphasia. I started stuttering and was very anxious to address this but instantly, Ben was so compassionate.
He handled that situation with positive energy, sincere understanding, patience grace & compassion. They remade my pizza and put my wings back in the warmer for me too.
When I drove back around to pick up the pizza, I tipped Ben extra and thanked him for his patience and for how he treated me. It can be very nerve racking with expressive aphasia and needing to articulate when an order isn’t exactly right.
I hope management shows proper appreciation to Ben & team because it’s the employees who make it break the environment and they are lucky to have him there.
We are all lucky to have him there and if you want amazing food, next level customer service & one heck of a great overall experience - ask for Ben at the hartland location!
