Bella Rae Hair Salon — Local services in Hartland Township

Went in to Bella Rae salon as new client, appointment was made with Sherri. I was greeted by Sherri with no smile or a hello,First mistake. Then explained how I wanted my hair highlighted and low lighted, Sherri had to get a second opinion on how to do my hair. Shannon the owner came over with hair color chart and showed me a color, I liked it and said go ahead with that color. I told her and Sherri to be clear, I want big chunks of blond and smaller chunks of color, I want to have the blond be the predominate color!! My hair was not done right at all still have a very predominate hair band from new growth of about 2-3 inches,, not happy! Then the hair cut, once again I showed Sherri a picture of haircut and told her to bring my layers up to my cheek bone, she failed to to that right either! Not to mention the whole time she was doing my hair I tried having a conversation with her just to be ignored! Sherri has a terrible personality, dose not listen and did not do anything I told her I wanted! A 190.00 later I left feeling like I just flushed money down the toilet!! Went back the next day to have her put some more blond chunks in my hair, in hopes that it would blend a little better, Sherri told me it would take 3 to 4 more times before it would look right, I'm a cosmetologist myself and told her that's not true, I've done hair for 37yrs and could have done this right the first time!! She was unresponsive! Overall I was very unhappy and would not recommend Sherri to anyone I care about!! Sherri has a awful personality, doesn't listen, dosn't respond when spoken to, I wish I had waited and went to my friend that usually does my hair, the wait would have been worth it, even though my hair was so grown out!! Amaris is the only person I will let near my hair! She is a brilliant stylist that handles everything I throw at her (and I have thrown a lot her way). I’ll be honest, I’m a complicated client as I like to drastically change my hair almost every time I come in. Whether I’m chomping off several inches, asking for a shadow root or ombré, having her fix a bad red dye experience from a previous salon, getting peekaboo pops or color, or going full platinum blonde from a dark brown; Amaris handles it all and does it AMAZINGLY.

She is excellent at understanding what I’m looking for AND telling me if it’s not a good idea for me. She works with what I want and ensues that I never leave unless it looks great and I’m 100% happy with how my hair turns out!

Not only is she a brilliant colorist but she literally gives me the best cut and style of my life every time I leave her chair. I always feel like a fierce new version of myself after seeing Amaris.

She is so good at what she does AND has the biggest heart of anyone! Spending time in her chair has granted me a fabulous friendship. She always remembers what is going on in my life and makes sure to ask about things we talked about before! She can make anyone feel like they are BFFs after their first styling/appointment. This salon is amazing in every way. Hands down, the employees truly make this place what it is. From the first step in the door, to check out, it was such a warm and fun experience. The professionalism, the fun, the cleanliness, and the caring nature of every person I spoke with was wonderful. The expertise of my hairdresser Sherry was amazing. She was incredibly detail oriented and as picky as I was on every trim and colored piece of my hair. She explained everything she needed to do and why, as well as made sure I loved my hair before I left. This is a prestige salon, and you will pay prestige prices. But they completely back it up with not only quality in their work, but quality employees who are truly are happy to help you with your vision. I will be so happy to go back in a couple months.
