I have been a regular at cape roots for over 5 years now, and I was treated soo poorly, that I am willing to never step foot in this shop ever again. I always order #4 with sour dough for my wife and #5 on wheat for me. I always call the place and come 20 minutes later to pick up my order. Today 6/2/25 I called around 12:50 PM and placed the same order I always do, I was told 10-15 minutes to pick up the food, I came in 20 minutes after the call. And all customers that came in after me, and the customers Infront of me who haven't ordered yet, got their food and I had to wait almost another 20 minutes to get my food. I paid when I got to the counter and waited for my food to be ready. After me pointing out that I ordered more than 30 minutes ago, and haven't received the food, I got looks from a couple of employees behind the counter. After I got my food, I went into my car to drive off, one of the employees stopped me saying I haven't paid yet. I had to go in again and show them the pending charge on my card and the employee that took my payment at the register almost dismissed me. I have always paid 20% tip on my take out orders, but after this big screw up I will not be coming to cape roots anymore. Good luck.

Unfortunately, the sandwiches are simply not good due to their use of bad, processed bread and tasteless filler ingredients. What makes it sting the most, is the price. If they want to continue to charge what they do for their sandwiches, I suggest using higher quality bread, at least, maybe from a local bakery? You can make much tastier sandwiches, with better quality ingredients for a lot less at home. I’d be happy to pay for the convenience but the sandwiches are mushy, tasteless and overpriced. We will continue to support the business but will be steering clear of their...

It seems that appearance and atmosphere are more important than quality/content. Has a “NJ shore” vibe to it and not a “cape cod” vibe that I’m used to.
Ordered an iced coffee and a breakfast sandwich.
The iced coffee was subpar.
Ordered a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich. They would not allow me to get it on a bagel or croissant. They are premade on English muffins. The eggs looked fake. And it look like it was microwaved and then placed in a warmer until ordered. I could’ve gone to Cumberland Farms a few buildings down and got the same thing for half the price.
The baked goods do look good. I have not...
