Last night we went to this place and it was phenomenal! I loved everything about it. There wasn’t one thing I did not like. I love the ambience and the quaintness of being in a large Cape Cod home with a glass enclosed porch. I love the linen tablecloths, and the fresh red rose on the table. I love the service. And I went crazy over the Sears scallop dish that I had. I can honestly say I have not tasted scallops that was that good and that flavorful and that sweet and succulent since I was a young girl growing up in New Bedford mass where all the scallops come from. We had a scallop festival every summer. I ordered scallops in Florida where I now live, but they have no flavor whatsoever. And most of the time they divers scallops which are huge and I don’t like the texture and there is no flavor. It was served with couscous which. I chose not to use the sauces that came with it and had them put it on the side. Instead, I had them give me melted butter, which had like a basil garlic , that was excellent to dip my scallops in. My husband ordered the grilled lobster and he said it was fantastic. And it looked it as well. They had a saffron sauce, reduction, potatoes, and asparagus. His flourless chocolate torte which he orders a lot and he goes out to restaurants because he’s diabetic was outrageous. He said it was the best he ever had because it was moist and not dry. I had the strawberry shortcake. I asked them to leave off the mint simple syrup because I don’t like the taste of mint. The only thing I would say about that was it came with a biscuit instead of angel food cake. Personally, I prefer strawberry shortcake with angel food cake. However, the strawberries were fresh and the mascarpone cream, of course was delightful. It also came with a strawberry rhubarb purée on the side. I’m not fond of rhubarb so I wasn’t crazy over that but on the whole it was good! I highly recommend this restaurant.

The Cape Sea Grille is an upscale spot that has yet to disappoint. This is not your typical lobster and chowder joint that caters to the masses (Not that I don't also love those spots too). But if you are looking for fresh local seafood along with other dishes prepared with flair and a truly professional staff that is super attentive please put this on your must-try list. The gazpacho appetizer is really a great way to start but remember to save room for dessert as well. Cape Sea Grille is easily located on beautiful Sea Street right off Main Street (Route 28) and has their own parking lot. If you have time before or after dinner, take a walk to the Town beach located at the end of Sea St.

This was our first time dining here. Anastasia was our server. She was very friendly and professional. We arrived right on time and our table was ready for us. We passed on appetizers tonight because we had a late lunch. I had a pan seared piece of veal with creamed corn, mashed potatoes with Gouda and some sautéed mixed vegetables. It was excellent. My partner had a dish with lobster, shrimp, and scallops over pasta with peas, asparagus, and fennel with a sweet chili sauce. He said it was very good. Looking forward to more visits in the future.

Hostess greeted us with a very stern "you're early, we will have to seat you closer to your reservation time" (MANY empty tables, including the one we sat at -- we arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation). The staff seemed overwhelmed, even when we arrived but we let it go.

We sat down and our drink order was pretty quick. Waitress took our appetizer and meal orders and then we waited... and waited... and waited... our appetizers came to the table - about 40 minutes after we ordered. Then we waited for dinner, that never came. 1 hour and 40 minutes after we sat down and we still didn't see our dinner. We finally got up from our table and asked where dinner was. This appeared to annoy our server, as she quickly came to the table to ask us if we were displeased that our dinner was late. We definitely told her we were displeased. We were then told that our dinner order wasn't timed properly. HUH?!?

Then, even when our meal still wasn't on the table, we were offered a third round of free drinks. Seriously, make us drunk cause we are not happy. What a terrible approach.

Our meal never came to the table and we ended up just asking for the check and leaving the restaurant. I think it was the owner, finally came out to see what was wrong and started to profusely apologize. I was thoroughly embarrassed and just wanted to leave the restaurant. She sent my husband home with part of our meal. I won't be eating it.

What a terrible experience. I sit home, hungry... truly surprised that this establishment is loved by so many. This was our second visit, our first wasn't very memorable either... We won't return.

(check out the other negative reviews that explain the same exact occurrence - the service here is just plain...

I have been dining at the Cape Sea Grille for more than a decade. It is one of the finest seafood restaurants in the Northeast. My family and my clients have never had a bad meal there. That said, for our meal there two weeks ago, Owners Jennifer and Doug Ramler outdid themselves and went far beyond the “seafood” label. My wife had the Veal entree, my grandson had the Duck and I had the Tuna. As we made our way through the evening, we each remarked that this was one of the best meals we have ever had. For context, we have dined all over the U.S., in Paris, in Rome and in Tuscany, in Santorini and in the Caribbean. This is a restaurant you must visit!

Fennel-Coriander Rubbed & Grilled Ahi Tuna salt cod-tarragon risotto cake, a salad of arugula, celery confit, English cucumber & cherry tomatoes tossed in peach vinaigrette, with lemon-soy gribiche & crispy plantains

Breaded and Pan Seared Veal Cutlet smoked gouda mashed potatoes, a sauté of sunburst squash, carrots, braised leeks & baby kale, finished with truffled corn puree & crispy leeks

Seared Long Island Duck Breast basil-coconut gnocchi, a sauté of grilled zucchini, Asian mushrooms, grilled tomatoes & baby kale, finished with smoked cherry demi-glace &...
