COSTILLAS COLOMBIAN GRILL — Restaurant in Hasbrouck Heights

Went to try out the new spot on the boulevard and wasn't disappointed. The food and service were great. We ordered a small picada with a few sides and different drinks. Let me tell you the small was everything but small. It fed 4 of us with leftovers to take home. Everything in it tasted amazing served to you right off the grill.

The sides of plantains and yuca fries were good but the regular fries that it already comes with were addicting. They serve it with little sides of aji and pink sauce (personally I'm not a big fan of, it's just ketchup and mayo) and got a side of chimichurri. Pit of all the sauces, aji is still king.

For drinks we got 2 mango fresh fruit juices, one made with milk and the other with water. I wasn't a fan of the milk one but liked the water one even though I wished the mango was more ripe to be sweeter. If you're not Colombian, give their 2 famous sodas a try, Postobón - manzana (Apple)(my favorite)...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Costilla’s and it was truly an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious each dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor.
