Fisher's Cafe — Restaurant in Hasbrouck Heights

I got the address changed to the correct 245 Boulevard. I sent pictures of the fabulous Christmas decorations here to a family member in Pittsburgh. Her: Wow! I have truly never seen anything like it. Santa comes to town in a parade Fri nite, but he, Mrs Claus & elves apparently visited & decorated Fisher's Sunday. Such a warm atmosphere which adds to the warmth of the staff & food! Great job folks!

Let me start by saying the address listed is not correct. Fisher's is on the BOULEVARD in Hasbrouck Hts. It's got the best breakfast in town! And there are scrumptious specialty breakfasts on the weekend. Some really great & unusual options. Mon-Fri there are some wonderful "soup of the day" either by itself or specially priced w a sandwich. Yum! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas as the decorations are coming out. Alex & his staff work so diligently to make the dining experience enjoyable & food delicious. Thanks guys & gals!

Not only is the food good/reasonably priced, but the staff is friendly & work diligently to get you served quickly. Owner Alex & his green thumb have the storefront decorated w beautiful huge mums, pumpkins & haystacks. Welcome Autumn at Fisher's.

I have been temporarily living nearby and have had breakfast at Fishers several times before. The atmosphere and service used to be great, but this time was very different.

I ordered the Tower Breakfast (the first item in the menu under the Benedicts section), which came with fried potatoes as a side. When I tried the potatoes, they were extremely sour — clearly spoiled. My daughter’s side potatoes tasted exactly the same.

We called the waiter and explained the situation. He then spoke to the cook in Spanish, assuming we didn’t understand. However, we do speak Spanish and overheard the cook say: “I know, they’re already spoiled. We’ll redo them with other potatoes.”

We pretended not to understand, but it was upsetting to realize they knowingly served spoiled food. They replaced my entire dish and only replaced the potatoes for my daughter. After that, the waiter’s attitude changed completely — he became rude, as if we were the problem.

There was no apology, the spoiled dish was still included in the bill, and the staff acted cold and unfriendly. This situation could have affected our health, and yet it was handled unprofessionally.

Conclusion: I will not return and do not recommend this place. If you do eat here, carefully check your food. If this review reaches local food safety authorities, I hope they investigate the restaurant, as it seems they are not monitoring product quality — which is especially dangerous in...

First I want to say this review is done very sadly I do not want to cause damage to anyone's business. I hope this review will cause the owner to consider what is being said and go back to the quality they used to be, however I will not be returning.

I have been here two times before over 6 months ago, it used to be a very pleasant place to eat. couple of weeks ago after talking up the place to my daughter we went and had breakfast. The owner was not as welcoming as he used to be. The home fries were undercooked the corn beef hash was scant and my scrambled eggs looked like there was either just one egg or two very small eggs and my rye toast which was not burnt was hard. My daughter was also not happy with her food which she did not finish. I am embarrassed to have taken her there and spoke so highly of the place before hand. On top all all that the price went up A LOT $29.00 before tip for the two meals, which did include coffee and juice, I wouldn't have mind the price considering what the industry has been dealing with but this was just unacceptable.

On the plus side, which is why I gave it a two star instead of one, is the waiter was very attentive.

Very sorry for the bad review but take it to heart and go back to being the best in the town...
