Loved this place. We stopped in on way to Cottage Grove and it was a great detour. Talking with the staff, all small batch made it house. Which if I am going to eat ice cream that is what I aim for. The inside is cute and the ice cream was delicious. We were looking at what we wanted and my 12 and 9 year old was wanting all kinds of stuff so we had them share the nachos. The nacho is 3 large scoops of ice cream, my boys got carmel, butter scotch, whipped cream and shark gummy. They got 2 scoops of cookie dough, and pistachio as 3rd. After sampling nearly all the flavors that was what they decided on. They loved the smooth flavor profile of the ice cream with vanilla flavor. Cookie dough in it had large chunks, with chocolate chips in it. One of my wife's favorite as well. The staff was super friendly and helped our boys narrow choices of toppings. The Issue with nachos was the bowl. We were eating outside and the ice cream was leaking out of the bowl and on to table and out on their legs. The serving receptacle for it was less than desirable, think throwing a piece of parchment in bottom would help leakage issues. Otherwise great treat. Kids loved it. For my wife and I wanted to have more then samples so we got the 8 flight. This was a great way to get a small scoop of many. I now can pick a favorite pair of flavors, but it was a lot of ice cream for the money to try and enjoy many flavors. We wanted to add a cone on to just eat with our cups which was great. The cone was delicious and vanilla with a nice crunch and balance to the ice cream. We ate it with the various flavors and some it worked with and others is actually enhanced the flavor of the ice cream. The cone was great. But when you pull flavor from ice cream through the pairing it with cone amazing. So the blue moon was subtle flavor, alone it was to mild. Couldn't pick out much flavor in the ice cream itself. It was supposed to be citrus, lavender and raspberry, it was good but nothing I could distinctly taste. Then I ate it with the waffle cones and the lavender just came on the after taste of the ice cream. Just bloomed the flavor in that ice cream. The pistachio ice cream was amazing it had notes of almond extract and full on pistachios nuts in it. The almond base to the flavor made that amazing. We got 2 in our sample so my wife and I each got our own cup. Didn't try mint chip, not into chocolate chips in my ice cream. The black raspberry we were excited for, it lacked the flavor we were hoping for. It was a good ice cream but very mild, in a blind taste I would not have picked up raspberry. Would like a little more raspberry flavor, maybe some raspberry in it would be good. The strawberry cheese cake was good it had a great mix of strawberry and cheese cake flavor to it. Nothing was over powering and it was creamy and good. The strawberry was my favorite, I always like strawberry or raspberry ice cream if it is fruit based not syrup based. This was amazing just the right balance of flavor to ice cream. My son ate all my strawberries out of my ice cream but it was real fruit and really good. Mango was great, large chunks of mango, nice flavor and good texture. The consensus was the mango flavor was not as mango like as much as sweeter flavor. The mango used to make the flavor profile was definitely a sweet mango, meaning more ripe to enhance the sweetness rather than a bit more sour when less ripe. It was good loved the cubes of mango in the ice cream. We also sampled the oreocream that was dairy free and the coconut base was great really popped. I do not like oreo so that was not my style but great dairy free base would love to see that blended with a fruit or even the pistachio the coconut almond extract pistachio combo would be amazing. All in all the flavors the quality the atmosphere all was just great. This place is great and would say go. Stop going to places that order their ice cream in and support the small batch small business owners ypu won't be disappointed.

Oh my goodness Créme De La Créme is an A+! Not only is it adorable but the ice cream is absolutely delicious! My husband and I brought our three kiddos there, ages 5, 3, and 2 months, and we were all so impressed with our treats. Our 5 and 3 year old both got Blue Moon, colored with Spirulina. My husband and I split ice cream "nachos" oh my goodness YUM! Our three Flavors were Cookies and Cream, Birthday cake, colored with turmeric, and S'mores and let me tell you those full mini marshmallows in there were just the right size, so good!! A few incredible things to know... 1) All of the ice cream is made IN HOUSE 2) All of the ice cream is FOOD DYE FREE!! Even some of the sprinkles Re dye free! (Please Note: They do have other sprinkles and sever other toppings that are NOT dye free. The staff was exceptionally friendly so just ask to clarify.) 3) They also have Dairy Free options! They only had a dairy free chocolate when we were their but they have Oreo and Strawberry as well. I only had a sample of it but it was so so good! I'll be get it next time. I believe I heard it was made with coconut milk, and man oh man was it yummy! *I was also able to sample the Lavender Honey, wow! It was the right balance of thoth flavors and it was outstanding, I will absolutely be getting a full serving of that sometime soon. **I also heard the pistachio is delish but didn't try it this time. 4) Another small but impactful detail... All of their spoons and ice cream cups seem to be compostable.... The spoons are made of wood and the cups are made of like a cardboard material! (See photo). 5) They have samples! Always, always helpful! 6) The staff was massively knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. They a small, medium, and large options and when she saw the age of our two kids eating, age 3 and 5, she offered a mini size option, which is kind of like a half a scoop and it was just right for our kiddos!! 7) Random Fact, they currently only have one little bench for sitting. In the future they will have adorable tables made of old wooden barrels and wooden telephone wire spools but for now they do not have any seating. Being located in downtown Hastings they are located close-ish to the river, maybe just 1-2 blocks, so you could walk and have a treat with a view! 8)They are a small business, yaaaaay!!, and are totally worth supporting! 9) The shop is located on the main level with street parking available. While I don't know for certain I am 99% certain the sidewalks are handicapped accessible right by the crosswalks and there are no steps getting into the shop. 10) There are also some retail items for sale as well, which the only said will be filled out in the future as well. There were items like old tyme candies all the way to Montessori style toys, think wooden rain sticks, wooden swords with sheaths, to fairy wings, on to raccoon hats, and dragon capes. Honestly the whole experience was adorable, beautiful, and most importantly DELICIOUS!!

Probably My favorite ice cream shop since coming to MN! All the flavors are delicious, And not just your typical store-bought taste. There were a couple unique flavors, the one I went with today being A black peppered strawberry. A strange mix on the surface, but surprisingly complementary once you get to it. I also tried their pumpkin pie, and I was impressed. Instead of the usual overly sweet, out of the can pumpkin pie flavor, there’s actually some taste straight from the garden. The staff when I visited were mother and daughter, and they were sweet as could be with exactly the right amount of playful banter you would hope from a family owned place like this. I also just finished my cone as I was writing this, and discovered the little chocolate at the bottom. Five stars.

This is the 2nd time in 3 weeks I’ve come in for candy and still found prices not clearly marked for shopping. If you’re not ordering ice cream, you’re stuck waiting just to ask the price of something to be looked up in the register that you may or may not even want.

I was told “they’re listed on the back” — in this case it was not and I asked him "why do you tell people to look on the back of the product displays for prices instead of just listing them on the front like a normal retail store? The curly haired young man then said “I’m just the scooper If you do not like our service you can take your business elsewhere".

Why not let scoop staff take off their gloves to handle the register, especially when I was the only customer next in line and he was doing nothing but twiddling his gloved scooping-thumbs?

I may be an annoyed customer who said out loud "this place seems rediculous" but for a young man currently on the clock to yell at me across the room, in front of everyone while walking back to his scoops — that’s insane. Telling me to take my business elsewhere instead of addressing the issue is unacceptable.

Excuses like the blond gal gave me “ we just opened” she said, as i was leaving do not justify failing to post prices for weeks or running such an inefficient system at the register. I was disrespected. And this is my honest opinion. I can count on one hand the number of negative reviews I have posted in my life. You guys...
