every single time I go in to get my usual (Slim 5) they don’t put the cheese on it. Every single time. So I’m handed bread and salami. Last time I went in, I asked for my slim 5, and I also said “and make sure to put the cheese on it.” I went to fill up my drink and the girl handed me my sandwich over the counter and I had a feeling she didn’t put the cheese on it so I opened up the sandwich and saw salami and no cheese. so I called her over and I said “Can you please put cheese on it please, I asked for it.” and she says “I did put cheese in there.” I looked at her and said “no, you didn’t. I just looked.” so she takes my sandwich and fingers through the one layer of salami. She looks up at me all red in the face and goes “oops.” and then she finally puts the cheese on it and hands it back to me.
The slim 5 literally comes with cheese, so I don’t understand how EVERY SINGLE TIME they don’t put cheese on it. And this is the only location i’ve had this issue with. I shouldn’t have to say, “make sure to put the cheese on it.” when the sandwich only has 3 things on it. I can understand occasionally forgetting to add a topping on someone’s sandwich. But literally every single time? This even happens when I’m the only one in there so there’s no other sandwiches to be made and there’s no need to rush to make it. But...
Read moreFor the most part I've had good experiences here. The staff is pretty young for the most part, but that's how it is at fast food places for the most part. I've been there a couple times when the manager was there (I'm assuming he was the manager) and he was yelling at an employee about something silly (I can't remember what it was now) which was a bit awkward for me as a customer, but generally I can get in and out in a few minutes if I'm not eating there, and while the music does tend to be on the louder side (to the point where you have to speak up a bit to be heard) , that's kind of Jimmy John's "thing" . The ingredients are always good quality and my order is always made correctly , and really, that's all that matters.
Edit : visited on a Sunday afternoon around 1pm. No clue what's going on but I've been waiting over 10 minutes since ordering now and my sandwich isn't ready yet. It's just a regular cold menu sandwich. There's a bunch of student athletes in here and the staff isn't keeping up at all. :/ this was supposed to be a quick stop on my way to buy groceries and it's turning into an ordeal. pretty...
Read moreOn May 31, 2013, I opened the door as a woman walked out shaking her head; I soon found out why, the music was blaring... blaring. I said something and she again shook her head. A man was ahead of me and by the look on his face, the same reaction. I ordered (order #18 at 1108 hours) and said in a normal tone of voice, 'number 14, no mayo'. The response to my order was 'WHAT?' I then hollered, 'NO MAYO'... but the order taker didn't get it!!!!! There were NO people trying to eat in peace at any tables. The store was run by youth, who probably thought they weren't offensive as they blared the music. I seriously doubt that any type of adult was in charge, if there was he/she decided to be a buddy to the young people instead of a responsible person and turn the volume down on the music. Folks, there are 3 Subways in Hastings... guess where people will choose next time if this store is not smart enough to realize that that the customer should be considered first... not the young staff and their choice of music. I have been there before and the music was loud, probably too loud, but not as bad as...
