Normally my husband and I are very pleased with The Porter. The food, the people, the entertainment, the drinks-all top notch. On Friday 4/22/2022 myself and a friend walked in at 8:02 and it was busy enough that we asked a waitress walking around if we could sit at the back bar and she said yes because all Of the tables were full. We also asked for menus, she had just brought a gentleman next to us at the back bar a menu. That waitress then proceeded to ignore us and never came back to us for 10 minutes. So after 10 minutes I noticed two people left from the front bar and there were seats available so we moved up there hoping to get food and drinks. The bartender saw us looking at the menu and she also ignored us until 8:26 and when we asked to order food we were told the kitchen was closed and she had just put in the last order. We sat for 24 minutes in hopes of food because I wanted my friend to try the food since my husband and I frequent this establishment. I was not aware the kitchen closed at 8:30 and at no time did anyone tell us, even though she saw us looking at menus the entire time we waited for her to address us to even get a drink order. We will probably not be back. Again-I do understand it was Friday and busy but that does not mean good customer service stops. The bartender was...

Only giving it 1 star because I can’t give 0, but I truly had a terrible experience at this business tonight. I have been here before and had a regular experience, but tonight when we went in we were told shortly after sitting down that they only had burgers and chicken tenders left. We ordered loaded fries as an appetizer (they did apparently have this too) and it was extremely soggy and not good. Not even sure it had cheese on it. After we ordered our food, we waited probably 30 minutes to receive it. Everyone at the table got their food and then the server came up to me and said they ran out of chicken tenders before making mine. I truly had no reaction. Everyone already had their food and I was just being notified that they didn’t have anymore chicken tenders to serve me mine. What???😂 Just ridiculous. The service wasn’t bad, but there was absolutely no communication between our server and the kitchen. She was completely unaware of inventory amounts and failed to notify me prior to everyone being served their food that they were out of the meal I ordered....

(LONG POST ALERT) We stumbled across this nice little spot on Friday evening, by chance. They did not disappoint, from the food to the beer tasting! Although, I'm not a beer drinker. We were at a pub, I had to join in on the experience. So, I did partake in the choices, that our waitress picked out for us (I can't remember her name 🤦🏾‍♀️ but she was awesome!). THE ARCHER WAS OUR FAVORITE!

They were shorthanded. But, I must give a big shout out to the cook/owner, who step up to the plate and knocked it out the park. The food was so goooooooooooooooood!!!! Emphasize on good!!! Okay, it was great! We had the fish and chips (fresh cut potato fries, not ready chips but y'all know that, lol).

Ohhhh, and we had their mac & cheese added to our order. It was so good, that you have to close your eyes to take it in with all of your senses with the "hmmmmm" sound! Yall, it was oooooowwwwweee gooooowwwwweeeeee, good!

I promise that I wasn't drunk, when I wrote this! Whoever, reads this post, please add this place as one of your...

This is a local bar that serves house made brews on tap and burgers. They also have some guest taps and a big selection of cans and bottles. We had burgers and some of the beers. The beers were pretty good. The Mystic, a Belgian hibiscus ale, is particularly good, even if you’re someone who doesn’t like beer. The burgers were a little overcooked for my taste. The atmosphere was okay. My wife thought the place was a little too small for the volume of the music. It made conversation difficult. They had a live folk singer who I’d have paid to stop singing, but the place is pretty cool overall and worth a stop if you’re in Hattiesburg.

We stopped in this very welcoming pub at 1:30 PM for a late lunch the other day. This was our first time to eat here. Since it was so late (and we are watching our intake) we shared a Porter Pub Cheeseburger lunch. Our friendly server, Dehilia, happily split our food and served it on two boards with a smile. The burger & fries were delicious! The atmosphere was cordial and the music was great. The entire experience was wonderful! PS- We did leave a good tip, more than if we both ordered a meal. We always tip for two when we split a meal because there are two customers to serve.
