The bagels are the best-but the staff is lacking. The manager, I assume was a manager, correct reprimanded me on a Saturday morning at 715am for coming in to buy a dozen bagels. This was not the first time she has done that either. I was so upset when I left and I would have told them never mind and asked for my money back but my two year old daughter was with me and really wanted a bagel. I will not support this business any longer with that attitude from this woman. I was not going to post anything as I know this will not change one thing. I am sure she is a hard worker, but what kind of business are you when you are not allowed to purchase their items and you feel reprimanded for doing so?? If you know you are busier on a weekend then why not make additional product to sell? I even stated that I was in no hurry and would wait since there were other customers there. Several smart a$& comments were made while I did wait—like if I give you this bagel it will be my last plain one for 10 min. Why are other customers more important than others?? Why am I not an equal customer to others? Being rude from the time I walked in the door was terrible. As I kept a smile on my face as I was told by the manager that she was well aware as to what I was getting. I wish I had gotten her name because I would have posted that as well as the rudest person in Hattiesburg. The owner should really place a sign on the door explaining to not order a dozen bagels on any day. So aggravating. Great bagels but will sadly not go back due to the extremely...
Read moreIt has been heartbreaking watching this restaurant go down the whole over the last 6 months or so. This used to be my favorite spot in hattiesburg, I was a regular. I loved the ambiance, the employees, and the food was fantastic and reasonably priced. Since the new management came, in the food isn't as good and the service is absolutely terrible. They also removed some of my favorite items from the menu, the coffee is now terrible, and everything is more expensive. They fired all of the employees that made that place what it was (or they quit, not sure). Today I went there for the last time. While waiting to place an order, a lady came to the counter and asked on the status of her plain cream cheese bagel which she had been waiting for for 30 minutes and the cook was incredibly rude to her - probably the rudest I've ever seen a restaurant employee behave towards a customer who was by no means being rude to the staff. My friend and I left before even placing an order. I'm so disappointed with what this restaurant has become, It was such a great place before the new management drove it into the ground. I'll be going to topher's for breakfast...
Read moreNortherners be warned - not the bagel you might be expecting. More like a soft roll, lacking the signature bite that you would come to expect from a bagel's crispy exterior accompanied by the glutenous soft and chewy insides. Schmear was good, coffee was comparable to any diner's coffee you may have had a thousand times before.
We arrived around the morning rush on a Saturday, so judging the efficiency of a business during it's most busy time can be telling. They were appropriately staffed, but lacking direction. Many employees standing around waiting to "run" food. Toasting the loafs (what i'm calling these "bagels") on a flattop instead of a proper toaster causes a hiccup in the workflow - at one point they stopped taking orders to allow the kitchen to catch up with the orders.
The breakfast plates off the grill/hashbrown platters looked delicious. Don't think I'll be back, but my recommendation for anyone heading here - skip the bagels and get a...
