Blu Jazz Cafe might not be the largest restaurant, but it definitely makes up for it with great food, a solid drink selection, and a relaxed, down-to-earth atmosphere. My friends and I visited this spot twice during our trip, and both experiences were consistently enjoyable it’s clear the team here takes pride in what they do. On our first visit, I ordered the catfish with sweet potato fries and paired it with a top-shelf margarita. The catfish was perfectly seasoned and fried to a crisp golden finish, and the sweet potato fries were hot, flavorful, and cooked just right. The margarita was well-balanced and smooth one of the better ones I’ve had in a while. On our second visit, I went with the ribeye steak and sweet potato fries, along with another top-shelf margarita. The steak was tender, juicy, and cooked exactly to order, with great flavor throughout. The consistency between visits says a lot this place delivers every time. The manager and waitstaff deserve special mention they were all extremely nice, professional, and genuinely engaging. They checked in regularly without being intrusive and made us feel completely welcome. Overall, Blu Jazz Cafe has a great vibe and offers good food, drinks, and service all around. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Blu Jazz Cafe. has made my top 10 restaurants list, and I didn't even get to visit on the live music night. You're not just getting great food at Blu Jazz, you're getting an out-of-this-world experience. I visited with my daughter and dad. We arrived an hour before closing time, and the chef served as if we were the first patrons of the night. The concerted Creole and Jazz ambiance feels like a ride on the Riverboat Queen, right in Downtown Hattiesburg. Whether you're celebrating an anniversary, a night out with colleagues and friends, or having a first date, Blu Jazz is the place to go. It's tasty, affordable, and conveniently located. I look forward to going back. Hopefully, the owners will consider a location in Alaska. :)

Hubby and I went for brunch and we were both stunned! We both ordered the red fish and grits and they were spectacular! As a chef myself, highly recommend! Spice and salt levels were on POINT! I never make reviews about restaurants and I think this place deserved it! Side note: we also had a side of jambalaya and rice and beans, they were also delicious but we did not need a side since the fish and grits were plenty❤️

Tried this restaurant for the first time last night . Food was good , atmosphere was nice , and waiters were nice . About halfway through our meal my wife and I said we should come here more often and make it a once a month date night . Then I ordered my 2nd drink , the "The Hub City Hurricane ". This drink was horrible . All I tasted was straight alcohol . This drink would put the best of drinkers under the table . To me it just wasn't mixed properly and the taste wasn't appealing at all. I took one sip and sent it back in exchange for something else under the expectation that it would be taken off of our bill . The waiter then later returned and said that she would not be able to remove the drink from our ticket . She sent the manager out and the manager explained that it was there policy to not take drinks off of the bill and she could give it to me in a to go cup. (Ma'am, the drink was nasty the first time you brought it to me , I'm not sure what a to go cup will fix). She argued that the drink was mixed correctly and that's how it's supposed to taste and she would not be removing it from the bill . So our visit went from awesome , definitely will be returning on a regular basis to this establishment will never see another dime of my money , all over a $11 drink.

Note to management , you should put your policies on the menu or somewhere in the establishment to let customers know your policies . This is the first time I have ever been to an establishment and sent a drink back because I didn't like how it tasted and they didn't provide a feasible solution that worked for both parties . Why risk a bad review or hundreds of dollars in revenue over a $11 dollar drink . Also , looking at other reviews Blu Jazz does a horrible job at taking criticism . What tastes good to the owner and the staff could indeed be nasty to...

Just a few days ago, multiple employees conspired to have a man unlawfully removed from the sidewalk in front of the restaurant. They lied to the police, claiming that the man was "disturbing the business," when there is ample video evidence proving they lied. The officers who responded took the employees at their word and handcuffed the man and stuck him into the back of a police car for approximately half an hour. The officers threatened that if he didn't leave the proximity of the restaurant, he would be arrested. Neither the employees nor the police had any lawful authority to make such threats as he was on public property, he was exceedingly calm, he was very polite to any and all who saw and interacted with him, and he wasn't breaking any law whatsoever. The entire interaction is on video on YouTube.

I'm left wondering how honest the "unexpected renovations" actually are. I'm gonna guess they had been planning these renovations for some time and since they started reaping negative attention for their disgusting behavior, they thought they'd do the renovations now in the hopes that the negative attention...
