Ward's — Restaurant in Hattiesburg

I visited your location at the intersection of 40th Street and Hardy St on May 27th around 1:30-2. I am visiting family and I’m not from Hattiesburg. My wife and I, twin one year olds, in laws and grandparents all ate at this location. The food was great! We really enjoyed the lil ones! Now the service on the other hand was okay until we walked outside. The manager sent an employee outside to ask us to move two chairs back that we moved to seat everyone. Me being the better person went in to move it. I asked who the manager was cause it was very unprofessional. The manager responded with a nasty attitude saying it was her. And I kindly responded well it’s your job to move stuff after guest leave and she stated it was not. The manager became a little heated and I did in response as well saying it’s your job that’s what you get paid for and she was adamant it wasn’t. I am disappointed with the service at the Wards and would not recommend anyone with that manager working at the location. Also we were the only people in the restaurant...

Returning to Mississippi for the Christmas break, my family was worn out from a prior day of shopping and an entire present day of driving. Made it to Mississippi to see my 5 grandkids. Guess what?! MORE TIRED 😫. But now, we're hungry, too. Like HUNGRY. But we've got mom too, so we can't just go "anywhere." So why not go somewhere that we can never go when back home because back home doesn't have it. So WARD'S It was. And it was like being back at Southern Mississippi in the 80s. They've been here since 78. They were the NEW BURGER PLACE when I got to Hattiesburg. Now, they're simply just the BEST. 🏆🎖. Hot fresh delicious food that's still logically priced. This location has fallen off. Used to be consistently good, then for the 2010s, it was hit or miss. Last time I was there I swore I’ll never go back. Way undercooked, non-salted, mushy fries. Forgot the chili or cheese on my big one. Just meat, pickles, and onions, and the top part of the bun was stale but the bottom was soaking wet. The girl who made my drink poured the root beer concentrate from an open pitcher they had next to the drink machine and topped it off with carbonated water (tasted horrible). Best part is, the employees always smoke by the drive through, so when you roll your window down, you get cigarette smoke...
