I guess I would call this a competency review.
I was an employee here in 2007-2008, and at that time the place was ok, maybe a solid 3-3.5 star restaurant. We had changes in management, but the managers were ok, even the new ones were amazing! The biggest minus to working here was the owner. At the time it was owned by a short, bald white man who was in his 40s. He was insufferable, putting regulations based on gender (boys couldn't have ear rings, girls were the first to get a raise) and even the women were pretty insulted by his attitude. He was only there once a month usually, but sometimes he would roll up, either right as we opened, or just as we were closing, to inspect. He would cut the general manager off at the knees for anything she said.
For instance, I was opening with her one morning and we were somehow missing one of the chili pots, so she instructed me how to use a pot that normally wasn't used for it. The owner came in and saw it cooking and asked me who put it like that, and when I went to answer I was asked if I was stupid. He believed himself a "cajun chili master" though I always said steer from the chili, as we would cook meat left over from the day as we were closing, wrap it in a container, and leave it on the counter over night. Nothing was fresh, and it was pretty insulting.
A new manager was hired to close the store, but he had no management experience before, had never worked at a restaurant, and sit in the office eating salads all day.
New employees hired brought legal problems, from thieves who broke into coworkers cars, to liars who let non employees behind the counter while drunk.
Keeping this in mind, I thought maybe I could try the place again, 10 years later should mean a lot. I got a highly mixed reception of this place, as I was not greeted with a smile, maybe one employee had their shirt tucked in, and my meal wasn't even called out. I am unsure if the same man owns it, but this once OK-NOT-GREAT Wendy's has officially become the worst one in the...
Read moreThis Wendy's is hit or miss. I'm assuming that the quality of your food and your service depends largely on who's managing the store at the time. Tonight they dropped the ball. Our burgers we're cold (which, as a former Wendy's employee, I know should never happen), the fries were cold, they were out of coke and ketchup in the front of the store (and didn't refill them the whole time we were there), and half of our burgers were improperly dressed. What's worse is that when we brought the burger back to get it made right, all they did was scrape the toppings off and then redress the same bun. They also turned off their outside lights, including their sign, before closing time. I have come to expect better (and more consistent quality) service from Wendy's than what I received at this...
Read moreCould this day get any worse? First, I have a terrible migraine. The only thing I can think of to cheer me up is Five Guys. Then, Five Guys refuses to let us order and so we had to settle for Wendy's (Worst plan B ever!!). Little did we know they were going to COMPLETELY FORGET ALL OF OUR SPICY NUGS!!!! We had to go through the long drive thru a SECOND time for them to give us our nugs. Their frosty also came completely melted and I was able to drink it in 5 seconds. Then we got home and actually started eating. The disappointment just couldn't end. I ordered what I THOUGHT was an avocado BLT chicken sandwich. When I opened it up, it had NO AVOCADO, and only 1 SMALL leaf of lettuce. I will NEVER be eating at this establishment again.
The only positive thing was the friendliness of...
