I asked for mild tofu and vegetable curry to go. I get back to my hotel room and went to take a bite and noticed a lot of spongy meat looking pieces. I called back and reminded the girl(who was very friendly) what I had ordered and asked if there was meat in my dish... she said yes its ground beef. I told her I don't eat meat and that is why I asked to only have tofu and vegetables. She started to say if I was willing to come back they would give me it for free. So I go back to make the exchange- gave them the one with the meat back. I asked for some extra rice... which she said I would have to get a full order... and then she charged me for it. (It was only a couple dollars. But, that's not the point) I asked if there was a price difference in my meal since I didn't get meat (usually veges and tofu is less) she said no. So, not only did I have to walk back for their mistake... but, no "free"/ refund lunch (as she stated in the phone call) plus charged extra for rice. Not that big of a deal... but, I feel the right thing to do ( if you're not going to give a refund- which I didn't expect) but at least offer to give me an extra scoop of rice at no charge.. for the inconvenience. I mean it would only cost what.. 25 cents? To top it off, all that trouble and it wasn't very good. I will say, despite everything- they were very friendly.

The first Coco Curry Oahu restaurant to reinstate dine in after the Covid era when all the rest were take out only.... And to this day I still support👍Eating curry out of a plastic container isnt the same as eating curry freshly poured over a plate of steaming hot rice. IYKYK. The owner/manager is always on property and runs this restaurant better than ive seen the others... Located in the Village shopping plaza anchored by Foodland in Kapolei, its a busy plaza but always has ample parking available. Easy access to the freeway and off Kapolei Parkway🤙 This Curry house also has different spice levels, and takes credit cards in addition to cash too. The go to is the Kalbi/fried chicken mix with cheese and side order gyoza. Mops! Havent had a bad dish here, although the last visit the portion looked a little smaller but maybe it was just the chef on a bad day... 5 stars🤙🤙

This is the same chains as in Japan right down to the water picture of water. The menu is a little different but most of the popular choices are available. You will need to talk to your server if you want to order your curry heat or intensity by the numbers but they will do it. If you have never eaten at Coco Ichibanya before then you may not know what to expect. They specialize in Japanese brown curry and other Japanese style of foods. The curry can be as hot and intense ad you would like. At level 5 it gets to be to strong for me. You can order it to include different protein an other options like mushrooms. The other food like the gyoza are also good. If you have never been then you should stop the and see what makes it one of the most popular resturants in Japan. It may take a few trips to figure out the menu and what you like but be patient.

Shout out to Aiden, Josiah, Keanu, Kevin, Matt, and Mia for an AMAZING dinner service! I've never seen a more efficient team come together and absolutely HANDLE a big dinner rush with such ease, finesse, precision, and professionalism. When my friend and I signed in for a party of 2, the restaurant was already fully sat, and we were quoted about 10-15 minutes for a couple of seats at the counter by Mia. She asked if we preferred booths, counter, or whatever becomes available first but apologized as there were 2 parties ahead of us waiting for booths. We advised we were okay with whichever and provided our contact info at Mia's request as she advised us she would call as soon as our seats were ready. After being sat, our server Matt apologized for the wait but thanked us for our patience and understanding. It was no problem at all as we weren't even waiting for the 15 minutes we were quoted. Matt took our order and called out to the cook staff who all vocally acknowledged Matt and got to preparing our meal with flawless coordination and efficient communication. Led by "the boss" Kevin, each member of the team completed their task perfectly, and you could see that they were happy to do so. This, to me, showcased that Kevin acted more as a leader than a manager. In between the completion of one order and prepping for the next, Kevin even stepped into the dining area to tend to customers when he noticed Matt was busy with the other guests. The food was cooked perfectly to our requests and was so delicious. Keanu did a great job frying our chicken cutlets while Aiden and Josiah prepped our plates and rice, of which we had a few customizations. While we were enjoying our dinner, we overheard the great call outs by the front of house staff to the back and the back end's responsiveness to each like a well-oiled machine. At one point, we heard that there were at least 10 more people waiting to be seated who were sat and served no more than 15 minutes later. If you and your ohana are ever in the area and are looking for ono food and great service from a superior staff, check them out 11AM-8PM Sunday through Thursday and 11AM-9PM Friday & Saturday. Thank you again to Aiden, Josiah, Keanu, Kevin, Matt, and Mia for your exquisite...
