Definitely has the vibe of a dank dive bar. When you go in, the tables are long banquet style tables and the bar is in the style of a sunken bar so they can have lounge chairs at the bar. If you go and think to yourself that you made a mistake, I urge you to sit down, have a drink and see if you still feel the same. It's a very endearing place and you get the feel many of the locals have been coming their whole lives. The drinks were stiff, the patrons were friendly and happy to chat; plus our bartender, Jess, was great! Very knowledgeable and engaging. She seemed to have rapport with everyone in the bar and was eager to meet my wife and I when we sat down. Super down to earth person that immediately felt like a long lost friend. Terrible service, chick at the bar was awful, completely judged us by our age even though we were all 23/24 and older. Studied our IDs for 5 minutes plus. Told us when we asked if they had anything tropical because of the name "hang loose" but proceed to tell us, this is not that type of bar. And to finish it all off messed up all our drinks put vodka in a margarita, complained that she didn't have a blender, got us the wrong beers, and the crowd are all local blue collar middle aged men. This place is always really fun as I was working on the cruise ship. We would always go there on Sunday nights to go enjoy some time off the ship. It would get very busy sometimes, but the service was always on point. I really like the people that work there and I feel like everyone that I worked with also did and that’s where that place is always so busy, you could keep your top open or close it or pay cash.
