Hawaii BBQ Deli — Restaurant in Hawaii

I ordered a New York Steak Garlic Shrimp combo, it took about an hour for me to receive my food, even though it was on the counter for a good 10-15 minutes. When i opened it as I walked away to find a table to eat, I realized the “ steak “ looked off. It didn’t smell like steak or look like it. Went back to ask the cashier to clarify if it was steak. She gave me a look as she claimed it was. So I went back, took a bite of my food & it was not steak but pork & it wasn’t even fully cooked, it was oozing with the “ juices ”. One piece was completely raw on the inside but seared on the outside. I’m disappointed in how things are done now days with this business. My meal was $19+, I should get what I paid for and in a decent amount of time. I understand that times are hard but waiting for more than an hour to receive a plate of food when business is not busy, is unbelievable.

Hawaii's BBQ Deli 111 E Puainako St Unit 570 Hilo, HI 96720

It's a stall in the Puainako Shopping Center. Aside from that I had a good bowl of vegetable saimin there. There is a menu board above the order counter where I placed my order with the attendant. She later brought it to me at my table. The setup is a cozy fast food style table and chair arrangement.

There was a large quantity of al dente vegetables with authentic tasting noodles in a lightly salted broth, not like the instant noodle sodium bombs.

Very satisfying...

This restaurant is new, its popping, its modern, and most of all, FRESH. Chef Ramsay has a real big dislike for non fresh food serving restaurants and I kinda trained myself to tell the difference. Now Im no chef ramsay, but you can most certainly tell the food from this restaurant is made fresh n cooked to order. Really good stuff....
