Honestly I had a overall bad experience here that leaves me feeling like I don't intend on going back in the foreseeable future. Firstly, the waitress was told that we wanted a "regular orange juice", as in the medium size labeled "regular" in their menu. My partner ordered the same - we were both brought our drinks, which seemed to be about 10-ish ounces. When we got our check, we had been charged for "Large orange juice", nearly $5 for each glass! So bizarre how expensive that is. As for the food, everything was really standard and underwhelming, but without too much issue - except that the portions were all incredibly small. A $17.00 veggie omelette had taken up less than a third of the plate it was brought on, and they were relatively small plates. It "came with fruit", that we didn't get until shortly before we got our check, and the bowl of fruit had two grapes, two small, flavorless wedges of honeydew and watermelon. It was crazy how small all of the portions were, and how everything should be relatively cheap, considering market prices for ingredients. We ended up paying $40+ for a veggie omelette, two sides of hashbrowns, two easy over eggs and two orange juices - and again, such small portions that we left completely unsatisfied. Plus as a vegetarian, their menu is pretty lacking in options. I recommend Hawaiian Style Cafe to anyone not satisfied with Ihop, and if Ihop might take this into consideration; your serving sizes and prices...

Really disappointing experience with my friends. We visited at 4am, got Juan as a server who couldn’t look more annoyed to be there by the way. Someone ordered extra bacon and never got it. Someone ordered white rice and got fried rice. My friend ordered a cup of water and he gave it to us in a to go Pepsi cup when we just started our meal and said “sorry about the cup”. There were 3 other parties in the entire restaurant and it was so slow, so there’s no reason for there not to be glasses. when our food was done Juan came out with a couple orders and said “I have 2 plates ready if you want it or did you want to wait for it all to come out together?” Like, uhm you already have them here at the table why even ask ??? When we were done he came and said “do you guys want the checks orrr” What kind customer service is that? Also, he took my card to run it, I got the message that I was charged. Then he left the booth with the computer and walked to another table to take their orders. Very unprofessional to leave a customers card unattended. Overall, disappointed and...

I’m a local and ate here before, after the last time I came here I told myself that would be my last. Well guess what ? I got invited to eat at IHOP once more. First the good- the staff is very friendly from the hostesses to the waitresses very personable and attentive to your needs, the inside of the restaurant is roomy and comfortable. The food…well that’s why I gave them 3 stars, I had the eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast . The eggs perfectly cooked…over easy, hash browns…crispy on the outside tender on the inside, the toast… very nice sourdough bread perfectly toasted but the bacon???!? Two pencil thin fatty pieces?!?!!!! my question is this- how can a big chain like ihop serve their patrons low quality, skimpy bacon ??? It’s an embarrassment! Now the breakfast is not cheap, you’re spending close to $20 for breakfast?!? Throw in coffee and a tip and you got yourself a $25 breakfast!!! I know you’re in a mall..rent is expensive, labor, ingredients they all add up , but you still have to serve good quality ingredients and food. For my money I think I’ll...

Update 4/2022. Waitress Maria is awesome!!! I wish all the restaurants in town had someone like her serving. 2 of the dishes we ordered were sold out, but Maria was sincerely apologetic and offered similar substitutions right away. Her energy and attitude is pleasant and makes all the difference when the menu goes wrong. Thank you for your kind and personal service, Maria. Go for happy hour, 2 to 10pm daily. Plates are ridiculously priced otherwise. I would say THE most expensive restaurant in all of Hilo - it's just an IHOP - it's just breakfast! Lol. Almost $20 for 2 eggs x 2 meats. Staff was nice. Place was clean.

I was very impressed with the quality of the food. Although it was a slow day we were maybe 1 of 3 parties in the dining room. The service was excellent. With the menu prices around $20 for a meal and $6.49 for a glass of orange juice it kind of makes sense for people to either eat somewhere cheaper or make it at home. I can get a gallon of juice for the price of a glass that's a little too much. Nevertheless the food was amazing and fresh and tasty, the waitress was very nice and helpful. Maybe would eat here once a month or every few months.

I love IHOP. They have an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and their seasonal/occasional items rotate through regularly so you get some decent variety too. Service is always friendly and they really take care of you! Others have commented on pricing but that's just how in Hawaii. I'm from New Zealand where cost of living is generally high, and Hawaii's prices still shocked me. So be prepared - it's not mainland pricing. Parking is free as it's part of the mall.
