Paco's Tacos Cantina Kapolei — Restaurant in Hawaii

THIS IS THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD IN OAHU. Kapolei is so lucky to have pacos tacos; First of the food is flavorful , starting with the quality of the meat and sazón. From the simple but delicious tacos to more elaborate dishes like the fajitas and carne asada. Everything here is delicious. The cherry on top and plates I often ask for when in the restaurant are their soups!!!! They have 3 available fantastic soups at all times at this location. Pozole tradicional, an amazing menudo soup!! Mhhh so good And my favorite one. Birria soup. By far I think is so flavorful, rich and full of meat. I like to order it with a side of rice. Now, let’s talk about the service. In the restaurant at least for lunch. There is a one man show. Don Hugo has to be the most jovial caring server I have come across in many years. Hugo takes care of every one with respect, speediness, fantastic attitude and a charismatic personality. This guy is top notch. It is hard to find some one in the service industry that cares as much as Don Hugo does. He always execute to perfection. Food comes on time, always right and while he places your order he may tell you something funny or give you advise on what to order. Just making your visit even more pleasant. Now ask him to make you a beer michelada and you’ll get the best most refreshing one outside Mexico. The man knows!!! I became a regular since the first day I try the food and got to see that real professional service that makes you feel welcome cared for still exists. My wife and I showed up during happy hour and did not regret it. We are both from Mexico and we are always on the lookout for authentic flavor. This place was ON POINT! My wife had the Torta of Carne asada and that Torta was full of genuine flavor! It had a crunchy bun with amazingly seasoned ingredients. Reminded us of tortas straight from Mexico we have had before.

We also ordered the ceviche, that had great flavor and we don’t typically like “Fish Ceviche” we usually always just eat Shrimp ceviche because the Fish ceviche usually has an extreme fishy aftertaste. This ceviche didn’t!💯🙌🏼. We ordered some Mariscos and it was Coctel de camarón (Shrimp Cocktail) and that in itself was very flavorful! Not spicy at all and could’ve used some tapatío sauce but it was very good! It also was a great amount of shrimp 😬👍🏼.

The service at first was a little strange, the first gentleman who helped us out wasn’t too talkative and didn’t give us a rundown of any specials or a rundown of the menu (knowing we had never been there) but the waitress who finished taking our order had amazing customer service! UPDATE: 5 days later, refund was still not processed. When I called and asked for the manager I was told "well they are busy" I said this is concerning a refund. The management then got on the phone. I was told to wait 7 days for my refund. Originally I was told 2 days max. Food is good. Unfortunately service is inconsistent. Sometimes the wait staff is friendly, other times they rush you to finish and pay. Do NOT order online and expect things to always go smoothly. Twice we placed an online order (as they instruct you to do if you call) and the order was never received on their end. I was charged, went to pick up and they never received it so they walk around asking all the other staff members and then ultimately begin to make it on the spot but didn't tell me anything. So I walked out to my car and was chased down by management begging me to wait. Yesterday I placed an online order, was charged and went to pick up. They were closed. I called to leave a message, mailbox was full. Called the next day for a refund. They said it would be processed immediately, it was not. Their excuse was that they were closed for Halloween. Then why was their online ordering system available? Poor training...
