We've dined here on several occasions.
ATMOSPHERE: Noisy and squeezed in like sardines!
FOOD: Tataki Salad Seared ahi filets and cubes in a light onion/tomato-based sauce. The ahi was very fresh but the dressing/sauce is nothing special. Came with a tiny amount of mixed greens.
Calamari One of the better dishes among the numerous other places that serve calamari. Batter is light but not the lightest I've had but tasty nonetheless. Came with mainstream cocktail sauce.
Shrimp Dynamite Wow, this is the WINNER!! This is total oral orgasm. If you love shrimp, this will be your new favorite dish. Screw the plain shrimp tempura! This one is glazed with a creamy garlic aioli and drizzled with an unagi sauce. Yowza.
Butterfry Roll Panko crusted sushi stuffed with salmon & crab with ponzu dipping sauce. This used to be my fav until I tasted some other sushi my friends ordered.
Grilled Shiitake Mushrooms Mild tangy & salty flavor. Pretty good.
Spider Roll I'm not a fan of soft shell crab, but damn it was pretty tasty in a sushi! I'd order this sucker again!
Spicy Tuna Very, very good.
Ramen Bleh, avoid this. I can't believe they offer a ramen with so little flavor.
Shichimi Crusted Filet of Beef & Udon Noodles This is my fave entree. Thick udon noodles stir fried with beef, mushrooms, and onions in a light brown sauce. Unfortunately I have to add in some soy sauce for a kick. Not sure why it's so pricey but WTH, go for it!
SERVICE: Wait staff are consistently friendly. The host stand is hit or miss.
OVERALL: Really good apps and...
Read moreWe are coming to this sushi place 2yrs in a row. This time would be our 3rd time. We brought our new friends from Texas with us telling them all the stories how wonderful this restaurant is. We made reservations and as we were approaching the booth to be sited we noticed we would want to sit our son on a chair in the middle this way everyone would have more room. The waiter told us booth sits 6th people, my wife looked the waiter and told him my husband is a big boy. He is 3xxx in shoulders please accommodate. Then the guys served napkins that had a huge black hair and again he was called on it. We looked like fools in front of the people we invited to go eat with us. They told us in Texas this guys would not work till closing of the shift, he would be fired. But it is not the end of the story. We were not asked if we would like to drink anything not vine or beer or maybe a cocktail. The waiter brought 5 waters and spilled one of them. We placed an order. We waited for the miso soup for 15-20 minutes, the man told us he was busy. By the time we got our food it was an hour since we were sited at the table. We were hungry upset and when my son said I would like to order more food waiter told us lust call. We asked for the bill, paid it not leaving a penny for a tip and went back to Marriott's hotel restaurant to have desserts and coffee. What a disappointment... we will never go to this sushi...
Read moreWe arrived on time, the greeter told us we had to wait 10-20 minutes (no problem) and that we could not take our dates to the bar, but we could go up there and order drinks. We were told they had to stay outside (like the animals). So, 3 of us went to the bar to get our ladies cocktails and planned on going outside to wait. We walked up to the bar and the barter tender Elaina was slamming cups down and growling as she was making poorly crafted drinks. My vice president asked her if she had a certain type of tequila and her answer after slamming down three menus and telling us we had to wait our turn, was that we weren’t aloud to order drinks at her bar. 10 minutes later Elaina re-served two folks next to us and one of the employees told us we have to move to the other side of the bar. Elaina went on to say that she won’t be able to serve us for a long time because she was making drinks for everyone in the restaurant. We decided after being mistreated 3x that we would take our business elsewhere. The Ritz was 5 minutes away, and we happily spent $1000+ and couldn’t have had better. In short, The bartender is always the person who runs the front of the house, thus the ambassador to the establishment. This horrible employee is not only inept when it comes to service but also not worthy of employment. We will...
