Wendy's — Restaurant in Hawaii

Well, this location was a very trying experience (Pearl City, HI). Wendy's restaurant all in all are 90 - 95 positive. They are a decent fast food operation, with tasty food. Great menu selection, mobile app always has special discounts and promotions and employees are well rounded. So, even though this particular visit was a 1 star experience, gonna chalk it up to bad "weekend-evening" management. Used the mobile app, order place and paid for 15 minutes prior to my arrival for pick-up. Stood at the counter for 12 minutes before anyone greeted or asked me to hold on, as all staff (Crew of 6) ignored me at "pick-up" counter. Other waiting guest at the "order" counter got the same treatment. I finally blurted out, "hi" ... I'm here for my mobile order. Young gentleman, slowly acknowledged me and said, "need to make these drinks 1st" and turned away. 5 minutes later (he took care of guest at order counter (this is 17-18 minutes later, while standing right in the front position). At the 22 min mark, he final put my order together and slide it out to me, just to find out ... it wasn't my order, but for the drive thru. During that time,, only myself, 1 couple and 1 other individual standing there for a 30 solid minutes ... no exaggeration! When I did received my order, bag was ripping because, the chili lid wasn't closed. Needless to say, I wasn't about to wait and have him change the bag. Got home 10 minutes later and food was cold. I guess we were really hungry, because we ate it all and still enjoyed the food cold. So, here's 3 stars, because Wendy's has mostly been a decent quick meal ... just...

This place is....up and down. Never consistant in quality. Their service may be ok but the food is TRASH! I will be calling corporate and probably health inspectors!! because at 9 pm the food should he cooked to order. I got home and the fries were brown and folded had no crisp to them at all. The nuggets taste like the oil needs to he replaced or the fryer needs a good deep cleaning possible replacement. They green tea they serve never has sweetener added and the employees lie and say they did sweeten it. The tea will taste like straight water. It is very sad!! And they are not living up to Mr. Dave standards. I don't know if they have teenagers working at night but the food is not being watched or served cooked to order. I probably have gotten a hot hot hot burger from there maybe 5 times. The fries usually are really good. That's why I say I believe it is the night crew who are lazy and in there playing around. I will not be giving this location any more of my money for some old burgers and fries. The bun even taste like it been under the light awhile. Maybe they need to check the equipment but I wouldn't be surprise if people got sick after eating there cause the food does not be hot. So you gotta eat it really fast if you are on the go or it will be super cold by the time you reach your destination. I will submit my feedback and call corporate cause some thing is going on at that location. Try not to go at night but the day shift can't make green tea either 😳 it is rather sad. The best tasting thing I've ever gotten from this location...

When I discovered the Dave's Single thanks to a Wendy's promotion, I found my new favorite sandwich, better than even In-N-Out Burgers. Well more so since there are no In-N-Out Burger locations in Hawaii. The Makolu location is the closest to me so this is the one I visit the most. Now the only Drive-thru I would use was McDonalds since the I felt the other Drive-thru restaurants were extremely slow. However, for sure Mcdonald's Drive-thru has slowed. Of course this can depend on the customers too. But the other day, I decided to chance Wendy's Drive-thru. I was pleasantly surprised as the Drive-thru was pretty fast. Oh and their Frosty-Yumm. Fried are good too. It's close, but I think Wendy's is going to overtake McDonald's as my favorite fast...
