I flew into LAX and my buddy Trey who picked me up asked if I wanted some authentic Mexican food. He said there are many options to choose from and we could try a new taco truck or go to one he knows is good. I hadn't eaten all day so I replied take me to the place you know is quality. We proceeded to drive to Taco Dollar Truck, not knowing the repercussions that were about to ensue. Not to bore you with the details but I ordered a chicken burrito and Trey ordered an Al Pastor burrito along with some of the pickled onions that were sitting out in some sort of vat roasting in the hot california sun all day growing god knows what kind of bacteria. Needless to say Trey ended up having to stumble out of his van that night and threw up his dinner until he was dry heaving. I felt so sorry for him having to endure that kind of pain listening from nextdoor in my van, but unfortunately that wasn't the worst part. What he puked up wasn't nearly as bad as what DIDN'T come out the other end: for days. I used a colon there because both mine and Trey's were clogged for, and I'm not exaggerating when I say, 4 DAYS!! The only reason I would ever recommend this place is if you're having horrid, unimaginable diarrhea because this is guaranteed to constipate you. Other than that I wouldn't wish my worst enemy to ingest "food" from this truck. Hopefully one day I can come around to the idea of eating at a taco truck again but for now I am scarred, both mentally and...
Read moreI've been coming to this place since I was 14 so about 10 years on going now. I used to love their quality, their prices, and their service, but honestly as of lately all of that has been going down the drain completely. The workers aren't as nice as the OG staff, the quality of the tacos isn't all that anymore, and it seems to me that they let the meat sit there ALL day and it's dry now compared to before. They will make remarks and stare at you funny if you're not the demographic that they are used to. I was just there ordering tacos and over heard the order taker call me a guero (white boy) and know they were discussing me because I was literally the ONLY customer there(I can see why now). Not knowing that I am half Mexican and Guatemalan and can more than well enough understand EVERYTHING that was said. Este guero si entiendo. The prices are ridiculous now. 2.50 per taco??? I just ordered 8 and paid a full $20, and I don't even mind that price, but for what you get it is really not worth it. If you guys want to pay that much per taco I HIGHLY recommend ricos tacos el tio down the street, it's the same price and the tacos are bigger, juicier, and more flavorful. Like I said, I USED to love this place but it's just not it anymore sadly. I also think they should really change their name because "taco dollar" is definitely now the cost of what youre paying. Hopefully they can improve...
Read moreTerrible customer service today Friday Jan 21. Cashier got mad because I asked my tacos with no onion. They took foreverrrrr to give me my order. When they finally gave me my order the food is cold! And I ask the guy handing out orders if he can remake it because it’s cold. He got mad bc I asked for hot food & I also asked if I could have cilantro on my tacos. This man then tells me why didn’t you tell the cashier you wanted cilantro? Umm excuse me? I did. I only told her I didn’t want onion! That’s it. How hard is it to get an order correct here? On top of that the man also gets mad when you ask for condiments. You’re way better off placing your order for to-go instead of eating there. They seem to add everything to your bag if you order Togo. Also if you ask for cilantro, they’re just gonna give you a clear bag full of onion!! So I finally sit down to eat and food is bland. No seasoning. Didn’t even give salt packets. Tacos are still cold. Not worth the $$. This truck used to be good before but not anymore. There’s more trucks around the area so just avoid this one. The funnel cakes right next to this truck is what gets the 1 star!...
