Hi! Wanted to leave an honest review. I want to start off mentioning that both me and family have been coming to 106 seafood underground since early 2023 - when they were still servicing in a family backyard. During their service at their home, the food was very exceptional and tasty. The only thing that wasn’t pleasant was the parking. Moving fast forward to July 2024, they moved their location to an official restaurant building. First, they did not update their location on google maps, so I had to call to ask for the new location. The parking is exceptional at the new location and wasn’t too packed. Once we were inside we noticed that the waitresses seemed to be all out of place. There were attendees after us having to wait for a big while cause the front desk sent them to be seated but the waitresses did not have any tables ready, the waitresses didn’t mentioned to them to go back to be seated in the front until the tables were ready, so they wouldn’t have to stand for too long, since some were carrying babies with them, they instead had them wait in the corner, standing. It very clear to everyone that there wasn’t clear communication within the staff. When it came to the chips and salsa, they only had one option of salsa, that was unbearably spicy to one’s taste, none of us were able to enjoy the salsa. I would recommend to have at least two options of salsa to not be exclusive. We ordered the borracho shrimp, once our ordered came - we immediately noticed the shrimp was drenched with too much red pepper, we had to send that back to have the cook remake them. We had a ceviche to go, but once we got home and decided to eat it later, we noticed the shrimp was still very much raw - to the point where we had to add lemon to marinate the shrimp throughly. Also, they literally added a palm size amount of shrimp, it made me laugh, out of disbelief. I’m not so sure what’s going on with this place anymore, but I hope they do take notice of others constructive feedback to better their business...

Let's get the cons out of the way. This restaurant is in a residential area so there is very limited parking. We parked about a 5 min walk away. Also the restaurant is behind a house and there is very limited signage. We asked a neighbor who was working in his front yeard who pointed is in the right direction a few houses down the street.

The minute we found the place it was a 5 star experience. Thankfully we beat the crowd on a Sunday early afternoon. There were two other parties laready seated and we were seated immediately. All the seating is outside but they have a series of umbrellas and tents cover around 2/3rd of the seating. If you come during a busy time you may get stuck in the sun so bring sunscreen or a hat if you're sensitive to sitting in the sun.

The waitress was very nice. She answered our questions about the menu, which was heavily in Spanish, and made some recommendations. We got Chicharrones de Pexcado and it was fabulous. 10 out of 10 absolutely recommend. It was the favorite of everyone in the group. Then we got the Green Apple ceviche and an assortment of tacos (shrimp and fish) including Marlin Tacos). Everything was really tasty and I would absolutely recommend checking it out.

All the food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was great service sizes for sharing and the cats who were running around were adorable but also stayed a cautious distance...

After finding about this hidden place on YouTube, we drove there on Saturday afternoon. The restaurant in literally in the backyard of a house and it’s hiding until you get to the end of the driveway where a beautifully arranged open air eating area in waiting for you. The friendly waitress, who I believe is the chef’s family member, explained the menu and we ordered three of their most popular dishes: marlin tacos, ceviche marinero and drunken shrimp. All three proved to be so delicious that I cannot recommend one over the other. The atmosphere is friendly and the Mexican music playing gets taken over only by the planes over head landing at LAX. Notes: Cash only! And parking can be a challenge. Otherwise very highly recommended. We’ll be back to try more food from this...

“Do you want to eat the best Mexican Mariscos… ever?” - my best friend “Um, suuuure. Where are we going? - me Cut to us driving down the 105 Freeway, to Inglewood and eventually to a house in the hood to have THE BEST Mariscooooos this side of the border. This spot (the backyard of someone’s house) is ‘bout to blow up, so plan your visit before The LA Times and/or EATER profiles it - at that point, the wait will be at least 3hrs and parking non-existent. What to order: Aguachiles, Camarones Al Mojo Ajo, Ceviche Marinero ¡Muchas gracias Chef Sergio Peñuelas - su comida es deliciosa!
