I am a loyal customer to this restaurant from the first day I tried it. My normal dish I order is always Mongolian beef. I am pretty picky with foods, food quality, seasoning, meat quality and their Mongolian beef has been consistent every time I order. I have a customized request with the order and they always read and make it accordingly. They recognize regular customers and treat us like family. I now am comfortable trying things I have never had, which is something I rarely do when dining out). One surprise new dish was the steamed custard roll (not sure if the exact name) I ordered it as desert and now it remains a favorite. I recently tried the sesame ball sweet side and was amazed at how well the combination of flavors just. Melt in the mealth with the softness of the roll around it. It was perfect. I am hooked. And of course, I waited a long time to try the dumplings because I used to be a potsticker only person! I have tried several and so far my favorite is the chicken and corn with hot oil sauce. I used to stick to Mongolian beef and potstickers at any Chinese restaurant but this restaurant has completly changed my willingness to try new things and I find myself enjoying everything that I have ordered so far. Many people are like me and stuck to their normal dishes but this restaurant will change how and what you order after trying the dishes you may have nevercomsidered trying before. It is my favorite place to eat and I know there is such a good variety of food that I can order every day and get something new and I know it'll be good because their quality is top notch. I hadn't looked at their frozen menu yet but will be doing that so I can enjoy some of the different dumplings for a late night snack (though I know that I'll never be able to steam them as good as they do). Give them a try. You won't regret it as the menu has so many good options and they are more than willing to prepare things according to dietary needs or...
Read moreI've been here a couple of times for lunch, now. I'd recommend calling in to pre-order your meal for pickup later. It usually takes them about 15min to cook and get it ready for you. Once you're on the way, they are easily accessible from the main road and have ample parking in the little plaza.
I highly recommend their salt-and-pepper pork chop (and I'd assume by extension their salt-and-pepper fish and tofu dishes), which is just a glorious combo of flavor and frying.
I was not as impressed with their tofu beef dish, which was swimming in a basic sauce reminiscent of Panda Express. The veggies I got were also barely cooked- really hard and crunchy.
Their beef chow fun was solid, but wasn't anything to write home about and is pricier than their normal lunch combos.
Since they're currently doing takeout only due to COVID, you can't take advantage of the fact that lunch combos are usually served with a soup-of-the-day when dining in. :( On the positive side, they've always served me great, large portion sizes no matter what I order.
An additional quirk here is that they do accept Apple/Android Pay, but because they've barricaded the area directly in front of the cash register for COVID, you'd have to hand them your unlocked phone to scan in the back, which isn't the most convenient nor secure way of doing things.
If I ever have a craving for salt-and-pepper meals, I might be back, but it won't become my regular...
Read moreOne great Chinese restaurant!. This is actually one of my very favorite restaurants I frequent whenever I crave Chinese food. It's tucked away inside of a strip mall by Hesperian
Blvd. & Winton ave. in Hayward CA. They have a whole bunch of good tasting foods including their daily specials that comes with a small bowl of hot soup and a piece of
spring roll (that is if you eat there but everything's to go now due to the return of the 2nd wave of this awful pandemic). They carry all the typical Chinese recipes that you've already
known and love. The only caveat about this place is that you need to put an order with minimum amount of order costing at least $20.00 (if you wanted to use your Debit /Credit
card for some unknown reason why which is really not convenient to the customer if you ask me). But it's a highly recommended Chinese restaurant regardless and a must try if you happen to be in the Winton Avenue district...
