This is one of the best owner operator cafes you can find in the Bay Area. The owner takes time to customize your drink and remembers just how you like it. This place is the best. Definitely close to the hearts of a lot of people in the community. I buy Joe's Honey (made in Hayward), pottery handmade locally by Sachiko Campe, and other local art here on a regular basis in addition to the delicious drinks and breakfast food. They even rotate in new local art on the walls on a regular basis, further helping highlight local talent. The owner April almost always works there by herself, and she's incredibly sweet. I ordered a veggie bagel and in return received a bagel with tomatoes and spinach with NO cream cheese. What is a bagel without cream cheese?! I was like OK, the lady must have thought I was vegan? but I ordered a Jalapeno cheese bagel, so no and she could have asked me. I wasn't paying attention when she was making it because I had my 2 year old son with me. Overall, the price was very GOOD.
