I've been a continuous Costco member for over 30 years and my memory is long. A common practice at Price Club/Costco is that they often discontinue items and cannot be persuaded to reconsider. My best Costco experiences have been in ALL the other stores where I've shopped and my worst have been in Helena. Items have disappeared from routine stock in this store such as the fake crab that comes in a four-pack. Gone here, but still stocked in Bozeman. Ever enjoy the Bel Normande three-pack of nonalcoholic drinks from France they have had at holiday time over the past 4 or 5 years? Gone. "Replaced" by various Martinelli selections which have none of the complexity of flavor of Bel Normande. I have noticed a great reduction in the variety of stocked items concurrent with the arrival of the current manager. The reason I have been given for this reduction is that they are "seasonal." How can fake crab be seasonal? So don't bother writing the buyers a little note. They never respond to requests and never return phone calls. Otherwise, I have kept my membership active due to my agreement with many of the other reviewers, but I hasten to add that Costco reduces its inventory but never its...

With Mother's Day approaching and a mild hankering for some retail therapy I was quite satisfied with the noise cancelling wireless headphones, Bose portable speaker, all-inclusive hair trimmer (Father's Day gift), area rug, Hershey's chocolates for the office Sunshine Box, cookies for my crew, a steamer to get the embarrassing wrinkles out of the super cute new work dresses (which I got from CVS on Euclid of all places!), plush shark 'stuffies' to surprise the 2 youngest with, kindergarten activity book, books for the Read & Ride Challenge, 2nd grade activity book, Summer beach bucket/shovel/sand mold toys, easy fill & tie water balloons, tulips and a bright flower arrangement in a stout square glass container for my friend that had my children so I could go to Costco BY MYSELF...I successfully came out with milk and honey bunches of oats with almonds for breakfast...
Read moreWe shop at this Helena Costco about twice a month as we drive from Butte. Last Saturday we saw a really nice nightstand but we didn't have room in the car to fit 2 of them. The following Friday we called at 10:30am to ask if they still had them on the shelves. They said they had 10 available (we only needed two). Since they had them I took the afternoon off from work and borrowed a trailer from a co-worker.
We connected the trailer and drove from Butte to Helena and when we got to the store we could not find the nightstands on the shelves. They finally get someone to locate them who later comes and tells us "Sorry, they were pulled off the shelves for quality concerns.". I offered to buy them at my own risk, but they didn't want to sell them. Clearly they should've said so on the phone when we called that morning before driving to the store. That was the reason why we called.
So we went through all that trouble just to get a "Sorry"... I'm extremely disappointed in the way Costco handled this situation that...
