We tried Hellertown Diner twice now since moving to the area and both were epic fails. The first time we tried it for dinner, HUGE mistake! I ordered the chicken fettuccine and well, I wouldn’t have even served it to my cats! The chicken was pink and looked like it had been chewed up and spit on top of the noodles, which we just barely cooked all the way, and all stuck together. The sauce looked like curdled milk and had zero flavor. Today we gave it another go and went for breakfast. When the waitress came over I specifically ordered a #8 which was the breakfast combo and my fiancé order the two eggs meal. When the food came out- it was not what I ordered. I was served the Breakfast feast which was WAY too much food and the reason why I didn’t order it to begin with. The pancakes I had were dry, were a bright yellow color and just very blah. The scrambled eggs were not good and a little rubbery, the bacon was so so and I didn’t even touch the hash browns or French toast because they did not look appealing at all. When the waitress came back and asked how everything was, I told her what she brought out was not what I ordered and the only thing she offered to make it right was to bring me out the sausage that the meal I actually ordered came with. No comp on the check nothing… I didn’t call the manger over because we just wanted to get out of there because it was so loud and hot inside! Needless to say, we will not...
Read moreWent here with a friend for the first time since I was a kid and had higher expectations than what was given. We got our drinks and then our waitress disappeared FOR AN HOUR and we were not helped until she came back from what I assume was her break ? And still did not address us when she came back. Wasn’t until another waitress spoke to us in front of her to realize we still didn’t even put an order in. Not even an “I’m sorry” or “my bad” from the first waitress she still ignored us. The other waitress helped us for the rest of the time my friend and here there and the food came out quick(thankfully). I was on my second cup of coffee when I realized there was something in it that is a mystery to both me and my friend and I’m disgusted(as pictured below on the plate). My friend and I would rate the food a 5/10 because it was edible but definitely would be able to get it cheaper elsewhere. Coleslaw was terrible as well. Our booth was dirty with food on the floor from previous customers and the toilet in the bathroom was leaking out the back almost causing an older woman to slip and fall. Mildly disappointed and will not return but I wish this diner a...
Read moreWe travel to the Poconos every year, and the Hellertown diner is a perfect stop on the way for some fantastic food. I look forward to it as soon as we hit the road.
We stopped by for lunch and was greeted and sat by Natalie, who was very friendly and welcoming. She showed us to our booth and promptly took our beverage orders and got them for us almost immediately. Shortly after our server, Lydia C., came over with a big smile and took our orders. She was also exceptionally friendly and very attentive.
Our food came out quickly, and was delicious! I had the patty melt and it was fantastic! The burger was cooked perfectly. My kids had a grilled cheese, and an order of chicken nuggets and fries, which I tried, and the nuggets were better than the restaurant across the street with a yellow “M” out front. My fiancé’s order of popcorn chicken was crispy and delicious!
Very very happy with the food and service and looking forward to stopping there on the trip home!
If a manager sees this, please thank Natalie, Lydia C., and the staff for a great...
