I honestly wanted to give this place more stars, but lately they've been dropping the ball. The last time I went I ordered two large pizzas, like I normally do, both of which were very underwhelming. Normally they use their grade A Wisconsin cheese, but instead my pizzas had a mix of cheddar and other types of cheeses, which really brought down the quality of the taste. If this happened at a regular pizza joint like Dominoes or Pizza Hut, I honestly wouldn't mind. But if I'm paying $30+ for 2 PIZZAS which I could get for much less elsewhere, I darn well expect my pizzas to be quality made. It was almost as if they got some cheese from a Sargento packet and threw it on there.
But the real gripe I have is with their payment method. When you are there ordering your food, they ask for a tip on their little machine. It gives you 3 immediate options of tipping 20%, 15%, and 10%(for what I don't even know!?). If you want to decline giving a tip, you have to pick other, and enter in $0. The whole process takes a little longer than you'd expect, and when you choose not to tip, the cashiers just give you a condescending look. All it does is just put pressure on you because you end up holding up the line and looking like a real cheapskate in front of the cashiers and other customers. Believe me, I am not a cheapskate, but I will not put up with this dirty method of getting free money. I don't believe in tipping, but I don't mind giving a little more at times for exceptional service. Here though, they want you to tip at least $5 or more( trust me folks, you're going to spend at least more than $20 or more here) for them to just bring the pizzas to you! No one is waiting on you, no one is asking how you're doing, no one is refilling your drinks for you( I guess because the soda fountain is right outside where EVERYONE can access it and get their own drink!) I could even understand if they were making me pay for the atmosphere, but by today's standards they are seriously lagging behind in that as well. The whole place is crowded and cramped on busy days, and the bathroom is a single stall for both sexes. If they have a problem with paying their employees, then Mr.Milano needs to put on his big boy pants and let go of some workers in order to keep the business going. Otherwise, he needs to stop being scheisty and passing on that expense to the customer. I mean it's hard enough that he has raised his prices recently but then he has to lay this egg on people?
So nope, no more. The cheese on the pizza may be forgivable, but it's that scheisty tipping machine that will stop me from going back. When that changes, I will gladly go back. Happy...
Read moreMilano's has lost all respect from me as a customer after my experience the night before last. I'm a frequent customer of Milano's due to the decency of their food but after ordering a meatball sandwich and then finding hair not only in my sandwich but also in the macaroni salad I can definitively say that I will never ever come back to Milano's. The customer service is absolutely outrageous. The larger man at the front desk is very confrontational and has no communication skills whatsoever. when I informed him that I found hair in my food he looked at me and abruptly said what do you want me to do about it. I was surprised to be spoken to with such disrespect as a customer. I explained that he could at least provide an apology for the inconvenience and he stated that he's not going to give me what I want. I informed him that he is very inconsiderate and I will be contacting the owner to inform them of this horrible experience that he has provided. He stated that he didn't care and laughed as he walked away. I then asked the young woman at the desk for a refund she took my card and walked away for a few minutes. She came back about 5 minutes later with my card and said that she gave me a refund with no proof of the transaction. I gave it 2 days to see if it would clear in my bank and it never did. Not only did I experience hair in my pizza, disrespected by a cashier that thinks he can treat customers with disrespect and a nasty attitude, but I was also lied to my face that I would be receiving a refund for the food but never did. Its unbelievable to think that this is the type of establishment that the owner wants to run and has Crooks dealing with customers then maybe this is your type of spot. But if you want real Italian food and don't mind paying a dollar or two more for it I recommend going to rodolfo's. This place has gone in the trash tremendously. It's sad because the owner seems like a nice guy but he's letting his employees ruin his business for him...
Read moreI am so beside myself…. I had company coming for dinner last night (a Saturday night ritual) and we always plan something wonderful ….all week I count calories and watch everything I put in my mouth but Saturday is all about eating, entertaining and just pure fun…. My absolute favorite pizza place in HEMET is MILANOS…. I’m so crazy about it that I actually buy lots of gift cards and hand them out to my clients who are new to,the HEMET area (I am a local realtor) so that they will know the very best place to go for pizza (and an antipasto salad to die for) ….. long story short the pizza we had last night was not the Milano’s pizza that I know….IT WAS AWFUL….ABSOLUTELY AWFUL…. the minute the box was opened I could even see that it was not the same…. I didn’t say anything until we started to eat it ( I didn’t want to plant any negative seeds with my guests) but the minute I bit into it ….I knew…. This is NOT THE SAME….nothing about this pizza was good…nothing…. The crust (which is the heart of the pie and the most important part in my opinion) was DRY DRY DRY and overcooked…. I even asked my friends who picked it up …. “Are you sure you got this at MILANOS “ ….because this tastes nothing like a Milanos pizza….they assured me that yes that’s where they got it…. I was tempted to pull it off everyone’s plate and March it back over there but we were all very hungry having saved our appetites for the feast ….after expressing my displeasure and disappointment my guests mentioned they had recently ordered an antipasto salad not long ago and it was not the same either… what had happened here…. Did Milanos sell their restaurant to someone else…that would explain this… if not then I want to turn in all my gift cards and get my money back because I would never EVER recommend this food to anyone let alone one of my valuable clients … I will be calling today but has anyone else had a similar...
