We started with a craving for tacos de lengua, unfortunately they didn’t offer that on the menu, but we found a satisfaction of the tender meat from the Cabeza tacos that had a similar texture & full of flavor. The salsa verde & plenty of lime, the meat was very well balanced & the double tortilla is necessary on there because they give more than enough meat in their tacos. We continued with the rolled chicken stuffed tacos. although the flavors, crunchiness and the freshness was on point, it could have had less lettuce & more guacamole. But still good. We also had the enchilada & chile relleno combo plate, with rice & beans. Rice & beans were great, beans arnt too overwhelming, cooked right. which gave a great balance of flavor for the A lil overwhelming flavor of their enchilada sauce. The chile rellenos salsa was on point with a lil kick of spice to it but very enjoyable flavor. The chile could have been cooked a lil bit longer for my taste, but still great. Over all we have been here twice & have not been disappointed both of the times choosing different dishes each time. U definitely get bang for ur buck, do to them being so generous with their serving sizes, authenticity, quality & pricing. Their atmosphere is great , they have good music, good seating, clean, friendly, attentive to their customers & overall a great experience and pleasure to eat there each time. We recommend u to try...
Read moreGot there at 10am on a Saturday. The dinning room was very cold so no way were my wife and I going to dine in. So then we went to plan B. Take out. We were no where near home so we ate in our car near a park. If we had been comfortable eating in the dinning room we could have asked for something else. But it is what it is. The service was the best we have experienced in a long time. The young lady who took our order and helped us navigate the salsa bar was awesome. We bought a chili relleno burrito to share. Very disappointed. Way to much lettuce(trying to cut cost?). Very few beans which was a shame because they we good. The biggest disappointment was the tiny chilie inside. Not sure if it was a poblano or an anahiem (thats how little flavor it had), but it was very crunchy. I doubt if the cook roasted the chilie, which would have imparted a lot of flavor and would have softened it as well. An opportunity lost for the owner of That Mexican Place because we eat out often and were looking for a go to restaurant that is not one of the ubiquitous Taco Shops in the valley. Despite the kind, friendly and helpful service, we won't be back to spend another $12.00 in hopes of a better burrito. Perhaps the owner needs to try every item on the menu and train the cooks to produce consistently. This assumes a...
Read moreBeen here twice now. Got the Breakfast Burrito with Bacon the 1st time. Very basic burrito, eggs, cheese and your choice of meat. It was really good and fresh. The flour tortilla was amazing! 2nd time I went I got the same yet I added potatoes, it made the burrito even better and again that tortilla! OMG. Both of their red sauces are really good. Didn't care to much for the green, yet that's just me. I'm going to try more items on the menu and if I need to I'll update this review... Oh and the lady working the front is a total sweetheart!
Reviews are only one's experience and opinion. To really find out about this place is to go check it out for yourself. I don't believe you will be disappointed. And if you are, it's not the end of the world and you just learned this place wasn't for you! Cheers.
Update - Went there for dinner the other night and got the California Burrito(no pico). It was the best California burrito I have ever eaten. Carne Asada was tender and had great flavor. They use those, fast food like, shoe string fries, which actually work really well in that style burrito. Good amount of cheese. And once again, that red...
